It's as good as a bucket hand wash, maybe better. I know it's hard to believe but even when I had my black 4Runner it did wonderful with no scratches. Now with my silver TE it is just as good. It's actually amazing to me. When finished the rag is totally dirty but no grit and the rinse rag and water is totally clear. Go to my instruction post and follow those directions. I am on my 3rd bottle now.

Really? Wow. You seem pretty particular yourself and I know you are quite thorough from all of your posts that I have read. Just wanted that extra bit of reassurance I suppose. I think I will give this product a go! Thanks for the quick response.

I just gave it a try and it sure does work. The truck feels very glassy and smooth much like after using a claybar althought I still think a clay bar would be useful to do before applying this. For me - its a pure paranoia that I need to change the cloth often as it gets 'loaded with grit'. I suppose I probably dont need to but I have a bunch so I figure I'll use them.

Question - what do ya'll do about the overspray on windows, trim and other 'stuff'...?

Well, I finally used ONR today after ordering it a few weeks ago. It works extremely well! I used ONE microfibre towel for the whole vehicle and used the 2 bucket method. I couldn't beileve how well the grit would get OUT of the mircrofibre when I rinsed in the rinse bucket. I was expecting to ruin a whole bag of microfibres (like you do with a waterless spray wash), and I didn't even ruin the only one I used. The 4Runner wasn't necessarily filthy- it was a week ago when I last washed it and we had a bit of rain one day last week, so there was some dust/dirt residue on the paint.

It is unbelievable/impressive that only 1oz of ONR is needed for 2 gallons of water. I probably only used about 10-20% of that water, so I could have mixed less.

I will be buying this again once my 32oz bottle gets low- no questions. Great product!

While ensuring I kept my wash media quite wet, there was very minimal water. Drying was a breeze and you do it as you go (you work small sections at a time).

It's definitely great stuff and you can also use it to make a great quick detailer.

Cool- I will take a look. The sponge part scares me as I think of grit not getting into the grooves and being stuck in the sponge scratching the paint. From what I read though, I can trust it to work. Thanks!

I also clayed, polished , and waxed after I ONR'ed and didn't notice any new swirls and I think I reduced the existing ones (it was getting dark so it was hard to tell). Took 5 hours altogether! Lol. Sure does shine though!

I live in Florida where our water is mostly sediment. Take the lid off your toilet upper tank and see what kinds of stuff build up in less than a year.

All the no rinse crap doesn't work around here. You will have to hand dry a car after you wash it.

Please go back and read the 1st post and add this step:
1. Go buy two gallons of distilled water from WalMart...

This stuff works even if you start with a bucket of dirty water.

After reading this thread I ordered my 32 oz bottle and splurged on a nice Griot's Garage wash bucket with grit rack from amazon. The box came yesterday and I gave it a try last night after the kids went to bed:
It works!
I used 1 oz in 2 gallons of water, one bucket. One microfiber towel to wash, and two to dry. Took 45 mins and looks like I dropped $30 at the car wash.

I have been using this as well for the last few months. It definitely works but how well it works has more to do with the towels and your technique IMO.

I believe this is one of the times where a very high quality MF towel is well worth it. I bought 4 thick MF towels for washing and a 2 Large waffle towes for drying.

I also think the grit guard is crucial as it really lets you get the washing towel as clean as possible between sections.

ONR'd again last night. I've decided that I would use 1 MF per 1/2 of the vehicle to be safer. So 2MF's is what I use to wash. I also mixed a 1 litre spray bottle to quick detailer strength (6oz per gallon of water) to use as a pre soak to loosen up grit and reduce chances of marring.

I also use one of my soiled MF's exclusively on the rims- this produt works fantastic on wheels. No need for a rim spray/cleaner. Just use the same wash bucket once you are done doing the body of the vehicle.

Side note: also tried out armour all's new tire gel with their foam applicator pad. Works great and was only $6 on sale here in Nova Scotia. Meguair's tire foam is regular $14.99 here. :Canada:

In all, this whole process took me close to 2hrs (including prep/filling bottles/buckets) and putting everything away afterward. I don't think it's any quicker than a regular wash- just a LOT less hassle and mess which means more fun! I try to do the windows first so I can roll them down and crank the tunes! :guitar:3

First use of Optima No Rinse today. One bucket, one microfiber sponge, one microfiber towel. Looks great! Thanks 1engineer for turning me on to this. Really does a nice job cleaning up the dried bug guts on the front bumper and lights.

Sounds like its time to break out the clay bar. That will remove anything that's imbedded into the paint. You're not going to get it 100% with a microfiber and QNR.

Nah, I already clay barred and the paint is smooth as can be. It's hard to describe.... it's more of a sticky like feeling. I think it's just the power of the ONR solution. Anyway, I've concluded it was because I was letting too much water out of the MF before wiping. Now I just apply the MF soaking dripping wet right from the bucket.

Thanks to 1engineer for referring the item.

I use the product via spray-bottle method. Great for cleaning specific areas, and getting bird-droppings cleaned off while not having to waste too much on areas that do not need cleaning.

I don't post much on this forum, but check it almost daily and have found it to be quite helpful. There are a lot of knowledgeable people on this forum, some of who have helped me immensely in making warranty claims. After reading about this product, I decided to buy it, along with microfiber towels, from Amazon.com. I used it today for the first time and will give a very brief review:

Weather: sunny, 34 degrees. Truck was "moderately" dirty with some road salt and dirt. It was not overly filthy, and the rear hatch was by far the worst. I "washed" the truck in my garage with door open. My skepticism of this product was rather high. I am not overly concerned with how clean my truck is: I wash it when it gets dirty, wax about twice a year, and clean interior/condition leather about 3 times a year.

I did not follow the directions exactly. Directions said to fill a bucket with 2 gallons of water and one ounce of wash. Wash one panel at a time with one towel, then dry with a second. Instead, I did 1 gallon and .5 oz of wash to do half the truck, then emptied it and did the same for the other half. I used one microfiber towel to wash, and one to dry the entire truck. Total time was 45 minutes.

Overall, the product is not bad. The panels I did first turned out best and looked pretty good. As the water/towels got more dirty, it did begin to streak and show more dirt. Next time I may use 4 towels instead of 2. That being said, I was very surprised how little dirt was on the white drying towel at the end of the process. I will definitely use it again and will hopefully get better results as I go. Thanks for recommending the product.

I haven't commented yet but I ordered this stuff last spring and have been unexpectedly impressed! I had it sent to my office and washed my fairly dirty truck right there in the office lot. When everyone else came back from lunch they couldn't believe I didn't sneak it over to a car wash...

In fact when I put my boat in the water last year I used it for that too and it turned a full day if not weekend of cleaning and waxing into just an easy afternoon of my time and she was ready to go~

Good stuff- and it works as advertised!
