No tranny dipstick.

I'm starting to like the new 4Runner the more I see it but there are a few things that bug me. One of those being no tranny dipstick. Call me old fashioned but I like to check my fluids now and then. I see a drain plug but nowhere to refill and check. Toyota says that you never need to replenish the tranny fluid but I still like to do a drain and refill every 25k as well as replace the spark plugs which they say will go 100k miles. I consider it cheap insurance. I have more conerns too. More threads to come.

The 4Runner has had the "sealed" transmission for a few years now.

It's certainly possible to change the fluid. The lack of a dipstick just makes the process a little more interesting. There's a sticky posted on the forum with a "how-to" on servicing it.
