Nor_cal51501's build thread

That's the plan! Well, first I'm going to enjoy the summer with the new ride and if no major problems come up, then the hunt begins again in the fall/winter.

Sweet! You'll love it.

Dang those calipers came out good. I just took a can of black spray paint and did a quick spray. You're 4runner is definitely getting hooked up lately.

FML! P0330 MIL code...well, guess I'm going to be doing knock sensors/pigtails...while
I'm in there I'm going to finally do the thermostat, and while I'm balls deep in this motor I may as well do valve cover gaskets and washers. :frusty:

Knock sensors, valve cover gaskets with special touch, thermostat and nose cone oil

Well, it's a never ending maintenance and mod list. Good thing I like wrenching on 'er. Pics to follow, but here's the beginning.

Damn, better now though than when something actually breaks or goes wrong. Seems like my maintenance list is growing everyday as well.

where you got the drl switch and trac switch from?

I bought the RR Diff Lock switches, pulled them apart, pulled the face off, made my own label in PS then printed it and clear coated it onto the face of the switch. Long process, but I like how it turned out so wasn't a big deal.

Well, I'm finally getting around to putting up the pics of my maintanance this past week. Pic heavy so here it goes.
Heres my starting point
IMG_0107.jpg
Not horrible, until you start to look up close
IMG_0121.jpg
Oil weeping on all the edges
IMG_0117.jpg
Drivers rear was the worst
IMG_0130.jpg
Then I pulled off the intake manifold…
IMG_0131.jpg
Apparently my intake manifold gasket has seen better days. Both rear water seals had a slight leak into the valley and the gasket begun to deteriorate and melt into the water port
IMG_0134.jpg
Drivers side
IMG_0135.jpg
And theres those pesky knock sensors

As you can see, my PCV valve gasket has also been spewing oil everywhere
IMG_0138.jpg
The parts just keep piling up on the ground…
IMG_0139.jpg
Passenger side with no sludge
IMG_0145.jpg
Drivers side with no sludge also, I was really happy to see it
IMG_0141.jpg
Did the thermostat while I had everything torn down
IMG_4040.jpg
New intake manifold gaskets, night and day difference between the old and new
IMG_4034.jpg
Reassembly

Nice work! Now that my supercharger's on I wish I'd done more while I was in there. Go figure...

So I'm in the garage and just about to start pulling the supercharger for the...I don't know, 4th time when my local Matco buddy pulls in front of the house and says he's clearing out his inventory and selling his route. :jaw drop: So I'm over here saving money, working on my car and then this happens. :ybrick: I'm never going to get my lift kit at this rate. lol Goodby Craftsman, HELLO more Matco pieces.

Also, I found the gas leak I was having after doing the knock sensors and intake manifold gasket. The passenger rear injector had a torn upper o-ring seal. Went ahead and replaced all of them, just in case.
