NYC-Runner Build Thread

First off I just want to start with the fact that your build is looking amazing. Definitely a sweet rig and I must admit I am jealous of it. I was wondering how you like your addicted offroad bumper? I am looking at different options for front bumpers and addicted is definitely one I am considering. Any thoughts on it? Would you recommend it to someone else? Cant wait to see what you do with your rig in the future!

Thanks so much man appreciate it! It's been a lot of fun building it and even more fun wheeling it and meeting awesome people and making friends along the way! I love being a part of the 4x4 community and it's plan old fun, although my wife and my bank account would probably disagree haha

I love my Addicted offroad bumper and yes i would highly recommend it to anyone! The fit and functionality is top notch not to mention it's a mean looking bumper. Scotty at AOR does awesome work and has used this bumper platform for the all the generation before the 4th gen. It's solid and well built also offering the most clearance for approach angles out of any other aftermarket bumper. He build all his bumper based off a rock crawling platform so it's made to play and not just for looks. It's also one of the lightest steel bumpers being around 90 lbs. The look is a little different from the norm like shrockwors, cbi but that's one of the reasons i liked it and when set up properly with light bar winch i think it looks nice and complete and badd ass. Personally Demello was always my favorite bumpers and that's what i was going to go with until this came out.

Let me know if you have any other questions man? I hope this helps.

Installed my new Icon shift knob! Pretty sweet, I estimate I gained around 10HP:driving:

Thank you for the feedback! I also like the Demello bumper a bunch and am currently trying to decide between the two. I think I am leaning towards the AOR bumper as I love the look of it and have heard nothing but great things about it. Also my close proximity to Fort Collins helps because I can pick it up at the store which helps keep costs down... Thanks again for the feedback it is much appreciated!

Picked up the other Cam bolt sleeve from the dealership today and finished up with my passenger side LCA today. It went a lot smoother today after the headache of the driver side one a couple of weeks ago. I feel like a pro now haha. I did notice my inner CV's boots weeping a little bit, which I know is normal wear and tear over time so I'm going to see if I can get some big enough hose clamps and re clamp them. Always something! I was planning on also installing my Metal Tech off set lower links and heavy rate long travel springs in the rear but when I ordered the Lower links they were still being made so not going to have them on for the run next week. Not the end of the world at least I got all the important stuff done.

I also got my transmission flushed a couple of weeks ago. I planned on doing the do it your self flush but ran out of time so just ended up having it done at the dealer last minute. Just something I wanted to get done now that I'm a little over 100k

Getting the alignment done now and then gotta throw my skids back on and I'm all set for the FJNE run next week at Rausch Creek can't wait!

Lastly we finally finished up my cargo drawers!!! Really happy with how they came out. They look awesome and their super light and sturdy as can be! My buddy who has great wood working skills helped me do them and honestly I wouldn't have been able to do them with his help! At least not as nice looking Haha here's a couple pics of them finished up I'll post more pics of them once their installed.

Now that's a cargo box done right! :hatsoff:

Very well done!

Absolutely man no prob. It's a hard choice because they're both great looking and quality bumpers. Again I just went this way because it worked out with timing being that Scotty just released it and I just love the look of it and the fact that it's a little something different from most of the other options out there. If not for that I would of definitely got the Demello! Oh yeah that's awesome that your local and can pick it, you'll be able to save yourself a few bucks. For sure man , look forward to seeing pics of it mounted up! :thumb:

Installed my cargo drawers the other night. They fit perfectly I couldn't be happier with the result! The only thing I have to do left is drill two holes on the top to mount my Highlift. It was late when we put them in so I only snapped a couple quick pics. I'll grab some better ones tomorrow with a my camera when I'm mounting the jack up.

I've been scrambling these past few weekends trying to get everything done before the FJ Northeasters run this week so it's been a little hectic, I'm glad it's almost here. Trucks all prepped and ready to go! Where going to head down tomorrow night and camping and start wheeling Thursday- Sunday its going to be a great time!

Had a blast at this past weekends FJ Northeasters run! 3 Solid days of wheeling with great friends and made some more along the way! The truck keeps amazing me with how capable it is! We ran Blue and Black trails pretty much all 3 days and the 4runner just ate everything up no problem. The only damage i came away with was two sidewall punctures(both in the same tire) from a sharp rock in deep water that i couldn't see (@cbielat also got it on the same tire), and a torn CV boot on the drivers side that i noticed the first day we got there. The CV wasn't caused from wheeling, for some reason the new LCA i installed on the driver side is much closer to the CV axle than the one on the passenger side, so when i re installed my BAMF LCA skids the one bolt was very close to the CV boot and that's what caused the initial hole in the boot that lead to the torn boot. But i wheeled it like that for 3 days with no issues. So anyways now i have to re boot that and i had the tire replaced under warranty. Now for some pictures.

You need to email me that first picture of my truck flexing in that wash and the one of your truck, my truck and Justin's truck airing up in the parking lot. I know you still have a lot more to go through. These and the ones on Facebook can't be the only ones!

its a shame that metal tech rear setup won't flex for sh*t on either your or cbielat 's ride.....

I know it's BS a complete waste of money! LOL Seriously though it kicks ass, it's pretty damn hard to get those back wheels off the ground and in the few scenarios that i did i just about sh!t my pants because i thought i was going over! Not a fan of those extreme off camber situations!

Small update: haven't had to much going on since the start of the summer. Finally got a around to installing my long travel heavy rate springs and offset lower links in the rear. So now I'm sitting up another 1" in the rear but it should be sitting pretty even once the bumper comes in a couple months. Stiffened up the ride a little bit in the rear for sure but it compliments it without the sway bar. Also tried running a aftermarket cv axles but didn't work out so going back to OEM.

Other than that going to try to get in some day wheeling trips here and there and a bunch of us are planning a 3-4 day wheeling trip up to VT in August.

Painted my brake calipers today. Something I've been wanting to do for some time now, just kept it simple and went with black to match the rest of the truck. I also added some spidertrax spacers AGAIN, I had them back when I had my stock wheels on and decided not to run them with the new wheels but then found myself wanting just a little bit wider stance. It sits perfect now IMO nice and wide!
