OEM bug deflector installation question

Hey guys,

I'm having trouble installing the oem bug deflector. The screw that holds the deflector to the clips thats attached to the hood, I can't get enough angle with a screw drive to completely tighten it down. I tried bending the deflector back to expose the screw more but its pretty difficult and I'm scare i'll break or warp it. I've consider switching to a nut bolt or hex screw and use allen wrench instead.


Any advice?

I'm not in front of my 4Runner right now, but I recall from 2 weeks ago installing it that all attachments occur from under the hood, not from above.
