Official 3rd gen 4Runners on 35's Pic Thread

I don't have em mounted yet. I tried to do it today, but I got stuck painting my gf's bathroom instead, lol. I'll post some pics on my build when I get em on. Hopefully monday.

BTW, if anyone in SoCal is interested, I was gonna put the Cooper STTs (315/75/16) up on CL for $900 for all 4, but I'll do $800 for a T4R member. They aren't chunked bad yet, I noticed early on and haven't wheeled hard with them in a while (been really busy lately). They will still be excellent off road tires for 95% of people, I just notice a difference in coumpound compared to other tires I've gotten used to. They were amazing in the snow! The MT/Rs aren't a gamble for me because J-money runs them as well as a few other locals and they all love them. And I do the same type of wheeling as them so I'm sure I'll love em too! The STTs have 95% tread, they only have 3k miles on them. PM me if you're interested..

My rear tires were getting caught on the inner fenders at full stuff.

I was dragging the rear a lil bit to get over this.

But after some more love from the BFH all is well and it stuffs in clean now.

I haven't had any issues with the driver's floorboard like on the pass side, so that's all that's left for the hungry hammer.

In the front or rear?

I'd love to be able to fit 35's safely with no BL, give it a shot!

And you've flexed the rear with the 35's?

I just feel like my 33's are already pretty close to punching through the fender wells!

I don't think I completely flexed it out on the trail I was on. I'll take the forklift to it tomorrow and see what happens.

You're gonna rub just like everbody else....you need something like this, just saying you need every bit of room you can get so you can fully stuff the wheels alot further.

I'm running 35's with no bl. Just get out the BFH and the sawzall and get after it. You know you want to! just give in and do it. there are a few of us on here that are running 35's without bl. Don't regret the bumpers they are saving you from the body lift. Lol

If you want the best articulation with 35's you're going to need a bl (or a SAS). That's not to say you can't achieve 35's without a bl though.

You can run 35s without a body lift, but it will rub on the firewall pretty bad unless you do a full tub. I can still get my MTRs to rub at full stuff/fully turned even with my 1" bl and lots of pounding and cutting on the fenders/firewall. Without a bl, you will also need to move or ditch the window washer fluid reservoir or you will rip the pump for the rear sprayer off and probably the reservoir too.

For the rear, I also had to extend my bump stops 1.5" and ditch the cover on the gas fill tube.

The Trailslesstravelled 4runner took a ton of work to get "35s" to not rub off road w/o a bl, but yes it is possible. However, the TLT 4runner is running closer to a metric 34 (305/70/17s I believe). A bl is just a lot easier to do than a tub (if you can't weld) and a 1" is a good compromise between being easy and not raising the COG too much higher.

There is no way in hell %5 of you guys are running 35's. MOST of you guys look like your running 35's but like I said, for some of you, it doesn't add up next to the vehicle(Like it looks like you have 31s to 33s). I have plenty of friends with 35's, either stuffed or cleared with body/suspension lift combo. It still gets much taller. I have 33s on mine and can fit 35s but love the travel my rig gets as of now.

Some 315s run smaller than others. I had cooper STTs and they were an inch shorter than the MT/Rs I have now. The MT/Rs are as true of a metric 35 as you can get (34.75x12.5). The Coopers were about 33.75x12. Both are sized 315/75/16s.
