Official 3rd gen 4Runners on 35's Pic Thread

So I plan on making room for the new 35's this weekend just wanted some feedback on a few things. Fenders are trimmed and firewall will be tubbed but as for the front of the wheel wells where the intake box and the battery is needs to get out of the way. I'm thinking about a cold air intake so I can save some room under the hood and tub that area. The battery tray will probably get moved over a few inches and possibly rotated 90 degrees to make room on the drivers side. With that extra room, I was going to move the ADD canister next to the battery behind the headlight. I rubbed all these things at full bump with 33's so they definitely need some attention. Just trying to see if anyone else has done anything about these yet. If so, I'd like to hear and see how you went about it and get some ideas.

I just got done doing this to mine. I trimmed the bottom of the airbox to fit and the battery is going to have to be turned to the side a bit.

How exactly did you trim the airbox to fit? I got most of the firewall finished today but still need to work on the front areas. Did you have to trim the body mounts at all? I just barely rubbed at full bump so I just banged it in with a BFH about 1/4" to clear.

Finally joined the club! I've got a 1/2" body lift, and still have to trim the rear. To eliminate the frame rub I limited the steering a little bit. It still steers plenty tight for me.

Man, that's a nice rig there! If you don't mind me asking, what license plate holder is that from?

Hey there the bumper started out as an addicted off-road bumper. I had a local shop, Any7Offroad add the quarter panel protection, tire carrier, and frame tie in supports. It is fully welded to the frame now too.

I didn't have to trim my body mounts. Real close tho. I wonder if maybe your tires are bit bigger or wheel spacing might affect it. My tires measure 34.75 on a 7.5 fj cruiser rim with 1.25 spacers.

That's probably what it is. My tires measured exactly 35" plus having the stock rims might be the difference.

Shes a little saggy up front yet because I just built the bumper and added the winch.

It has adjustable toytec coils in front with lc80 coils and shocks in the back. No body lift.
When I clearanced the front everything cleared on jack stands, but on a big bump yesterday I found that I rub just a little on the top of the inner fender. Not enough for me to really worry about.

Awesome! I just done Toytec/Eibach on mine with Boss Rear Shocks and I have a 1.5" body lift going on soon. Gonna get more clearance inside the fender of course but just wanting to see others setups before I throw my 315s on

Finally made it to this forum!! 3" toyotec boss lift kit rear ome 890 and toyotec boss shocks and 315/75/16 bfgoodrich KO2!!! No body lift yet and yes it does hit my corner of the fender flare. Waiting on what type of front bumper i should get.ATTACH]263466[/ATTACH]

Something most people can't say running 35s is this

I DON'T rub full flex+ full steer with 35's with ZERO body trimming (As long as you don't count the front bumper)

I have ripped off my sway bar backets ~10 times and broken my front cvs roughly the same number of times until I did ~2 inch diff drop

I originally started with running somewhere around 52 washers from lowes(along with the extended bolts) which was a little over the 2 inch drop, this worked great and I didn't have any issues with it even doing some serious rock crawling and decent bouncing.

I switched over to some 2 1/4 by 1 inch solid steel spacers because my neighbor is really cool and CNCed it for me for free.

The reason I had to do this was that I was chewing up front CVs like mad. Big lift + really bad angles = a different kind of breaking axles. The way axles broke for me was due to extreme upwards pressure build that the cvs couldn't correctly rotate with and then hitting the gas and they would shatter and bend the diff slightly... when they break this way it sucks super bad and you can't move your rig at all until you remove/replace it.

On 31s I could break axles of wheels that were in the air if that gives you a bit better of a perspective.

Here I am kicking myself in the arse wishing I would have taken more pictures... I finally did the diff drop when I switched to 35s because I broke my CV within 30 seconds of the first time wheeling with them (this reallllllllly pissed me off) and motivated me to finally try something to fix the angle just a little bit so it didn't do the upwards binding thing.

People also sell kits online for 1-3 inch diff drops but I don't think anything past 1 inch works with the stock skids (at least very well)
