Ok, two final questions before I purchase a 2013 T4RTE

1. Is $37,353 a good price for a Trail Edition with a sticker price of $39,600. It has KDSS, but not NAV.

2. I've read one thread on this website in which several members complained about the front seats. Sore sciatic nerves on long drives. What are your opinions on the front seats? Too narrow? Too short? Not enough padding? Etc?

I'm 6' 330#.....I take up lots of space in the front, but have not found it be uncomfortable at all. My longest trip was 8 hours, but I commute 2 hours a day in it...no complaints. I have towed a trailer multiple trips a year, for anywhere to 2-6 hours. I do have the seat mashed down pretty good, but I can't fault Toyota for that. My lumber support was crunching for awhile, but with 3 compression fractures, it seems to have settled in to an area that is palatable.

Coming from full size trucks my whole life, and I wish I had just a bit more room, but I've learned to adapt, and really enjoy the truck and the ride.

KDSS without navi is rare. I always see KDSS with navi.

Thats the combo I want! Whats the name of the dealer so I can buy this vehicle!

Actually I'm waiting to see the 2014 in person before I even think about buying a 5th gen TE.

Both of your questions are highly subjective.
1. Different parts of the country get different deals. If YOU think it is a good deal, then it is for YOU.
2. Seat comfort is as individual as people. For example, I am 6'4" 250 lbs and I think it is very comfortable to drive. I routinely drive 5+ hours on business trips with only one stop. I am driving Sunday to DC to watch a soccer game (USA vs Germany) and will drive up and back same day. That's gonna be 11 hours drive time total. Others close to my size might have a different body type and not like the seats. It is totally subjective.

To sum it up you need to take multiple test drives in multiple scenarios, such as city and highway, evening and morning and take them for as long as possible. If you don't do this then you have no right to complain later.

The 4Runner is a special vehicle. It is not a car or crossover. It handles different, it requires a different driving style (higher rpms) and it brakes different. In your other thread you have reservations about power. Test drive is the key!

That's a good price. Sounds right about invoice.
Mine came with Nav and KDSS - I paid invoice at just over $38k.

I'm 6'1" 260(and shrinking). At first, I thought it was uncomfortable. Especially after my F150 with huge seats.
Then I adjusted the seating position and it's 100x better. With the seat back upright and the legs positioned right it's been comfortable for long drives.
I actually like the firm seat though. Much more support than some squishy vehicles I've ridden in.

The price seems about right, but it's really tough to judge because there are so many variables, ie. are you trading-in and/or are you financing at a really high interest rate etc...dealers are very good at playing number games and will give a customer the price that they want to hear and that makes them feel good about the purchase.

Comparing prices on an internet forum is not the best thing, someone on here might've gotten a "killer deal" on the new vehicle price, and at the same time lowballed on the trade-in value and/or financing through the dealer at a high interest rate. At the end of the day, dealers are there to make a profit right?

I say you should just get it if you feel you can sleep at night with the price

As far as the seat, like other's have said, it can probably accommodate a wide variety of rear ends, but you really need to find that perfect position. I noticed that I would experience discomfort even if I am off by a tiny bit after someone else moved my seat around. Once I get it into that magic position though, I'm usually pretty good for 5-6 hrs drives straight.

I cannot comment on the price, that is up to you to decide. But I do have some thoughts about the seats.

They can be comfortable, it may take some fussing with the settings. They are a little more firm than I would prefer but I have gotten used to it.

My last vehicle had a memory setting for the seat and that is probably the only thing that I miss. I occasionally have to go to San Francisco for my work and they have parking attendants that take your car away and bring it back when you are ready to leave.

Well most of them are quite a bit shorter in stature than I am so they run the seat up so they can reach the pedals.

Every time it takes me days to get that sweet spot back. But that being said this is the first vehicle that I have owned that I can remember that I do not have to run the seat all the way back. The leg room is incredible.

It could use a little more steering column extension though, in my opinion.

Anyway you will not find the comfy seats of a 1978 Lincoln Town Car in a 4Runner but they are as good as most newer vehicles.

OP I just got my 2013 TE 4 weeks ago at Earnhardt Toyota in Mesa with both KDSS and nav for $37287 via the Internet department. But I did have to wait about 3 weeks for the one I wanted. They had one with only KDSS no nav and he quoted me $36401. $398 doc fees there which seemed about the same at the 3 dealerships I emailed.
But be careful, I was able to get mine before it arrived on the truck so I requested they didn't put any dealer add-ons, which appeared on every vehicle I saw there and it was generally around $800 or so on every vehicle.
Power Toyota was willing to match their price too but didn't have the one I was looking for. Good luck and welcome to the TE family.

I paid 37 for my TE a few months ago. Sticker was not far from yours.

I test drove the SR5 because no one within reasonable driving distance had a TE.

The seats in my TE were murder. I was in sheer hell for the first month, then as the foam in the cushions broke in, they got more comfy (I'm 6'3" and 190#). They're fine now, but I was really getting anxious for a while when I couldn't get comfortable.

My wife weighs less than 90 pounds and the passenger seat is still super firm, tho.

Well then, I'll shop around. I really would like to have NAV. I've decided that if I'm going to spend that much on a vehicle, I want it loaded. BTW, did yours come with floor mats or any other accessories? What was the sticker price of your vehicle?

Get one with the Nav, it's not the best GPS but it's handy to be built in. The larger rear view camera screen helps and is also useful when backing on a trail.

Floor mats, cargo cover, cargo nets can all be purchased on line for less than a dealer will charge, so you don't need to get these from the dealer. Also skip dealer running boards and put n-fab steps on yourself, they look good on a trail.
