Ol'Bad's '11 SR5 Build Thread and Offroading Journal

Spent this past Saturday converting my single drawer system to dual drawers with locking slides. Turned out really well, and now there's a center partition of 3/4" plywood to support all the weight that's on top of this thing!



And a couple from a recent trip through the Northern U.S. This one was taken just East of Bemidji MN. We found an absolutely gorgeous spot on the lake, but of course with lakes tend to come a lot of bugs! We almost got eaten alive after the sun went down!





One of said bugs that decide to hitch a ride. For the non-flyfishermen or entomologists in the group, this is a Brown Drake. Pretty amazing creature!

 
Wow! I haven't posted anything for a while!
Here's a few snaps from a recent trip over to the Fairmont Hotsprings area in British Columbia!

Clouds are rollin in! In the foreground is Dutch Creek Valley and we're sitting at ~1600m elevation, on our way up in to the mountains.


Up in the clouds! We're sitting at ~2400m in this one, at the top of a series of switchbacks that we used to get up to the top of the mountain. Kat's on the ridge getting some macro shots of the water droplets and such. Pretty awesome experience!


On our way down from the spot in the previous pic. Clouds are starting to break up a bit:

Here's a shot from this weekend's backcountry exploration and camping trip, West of Fairmont in British Columbia. Stay tuned for lots more from this outing!
 
Today's pic is of the sunrise from the mountain top where we camped! In the foreground is Lake Windermere, and behind that the town of Fairmont Hotsprings, British Columbia.
 
Here's one the wife took, about 2 hours after the sunset shot above. I thought the perspective was pretty cool, and certainly conveys the absolute absurdity of the view we had out our front window on this trip.
If ever we did not want to leave a spot, it was this one!

Did the Gear Shop order the Shrockworks bumper up from the US for you? Were you able to re-use your fog lights and DRLs in the new bumper?

I actually ordered the bumper on Group Buy from this forum, then had it shipped to The Gear Shop for installation, along with the winch I ordered from them.
Daytime Runners and Fog Lights were reusable, yes.

Any idea if the air bag sensors still work after the bumper was installed? Cheers.

The conditions under which the airbags will deploy will undoubtedly change to some degree, but it will not prevent the airbag from working. There's really only one way to know for sure, and I'll let you know should it happen. If I'm still here to tell the tale.
