OME suspension

Apologies but yet another question. I've spent the last 2 hours searching here, yotatech, IH8mud and Pirate4x4. I know I've seen this discussed before but couldn't find a thread.

1985 4Runner lift. I'm going with an OME Heavy front spring and shock (CS009R spring and N93 shock) because I'm going to hang an ARB bumper and a Warn XD9000i on the front. I'm torn about the rear. ARB recommends their medium spring and shock (CS009R spring and N85 shock) if you're not carrying extra payload in the back. I normally don't carry much in the back and don't tow with this 4Runner very often.

I'm tempted to go with the heavy rear anyway (same shock but CS010R spring) because it's listed as 1/2 more lift and I think that would make the 4Runner look more level. It's not a daily driver.

Has anyone tried the heavy/heavy combo?

if its not a daily driver and you dont care about a fairly stiff ride, go with the heavy springs. it would definitely level it out better, and that 1/2" more room for bigger tires!
 
where did you purchase your ome kit? what did you recommend? my rear leafs need replaced badly and was thinking ome thanks

If the ride is too stiff, you can always remove a leaf from the pack.

I bought mine at 4x4 Connection. I went with the heavy fronts and medium rears and it sits very level. I would recommend the medium rears for yours but I'm not sure what you do up front with the IFS.

Thankas for the reply. Sorry for bringing back from the dead. What I ifs? This t4r stuff is new to me. Did you buy as a complete kit? I orfred a catolog form arb. Any clue where I canget a brush guard for my truck? Or does it have to be a whole bumper?

Not a problem with bringing the thread back up. It shows that you know how to search which is something to be admired. IFS is independent front suspension. It means that you don't have a straight front axle with leaf springs (unless your 4Runner has been modified with a straight-axle swap). I honestly don't know that much about the IFS kits but I would go with a complete OME kit.

Brush guards are for looks only. They are otherwise worthless and usually just make the damage worse if you do happen to hit something. Install a good front bumper or leave it alone.

Yeah I figured that's what you ment by ifs. And thanks for the heads up on the brush guard. Ill look for a bumber with brush guard attatched. I decided on the ome kit because I just want the truck level and maybe a slight More clearance I don't need like 6 or 8 inches that's over kill. So 2 to 3 will be fine. Does the place you got your kit from still around? Website? And yes I always use search first
