On a trip on DC and was wondering......

Hey guys I am on a trip to NYC/ Washington DC and my limited with nav get confused a lot because of new roads popping up. When I called the toyota dealers around town they all told me that toyota doesnt make any more new map upgrades for the 2010 dvd based nav system. Any ideas on how I can either modify the map system or have it where its up to date at all? I tried searching thru our forums and looking at different threads but couldnt figure it out!

Did your trip cross regions? I know when I was on the east coast last year I had to change the region to get better results. She was very confused when I got home and forgot to change it back. Didn't realize there are no cd updates, although I use my phone a lot so not a big deal.

I did change regions, but when doing so, I made sure to make the selection of the region in the navi as well. It just seems outdated with all the new roads and construction that keep popping up!

Three things: 1st: I travel up to DC once a month and just did an update to my 10' Trail-prior to, didn't have a problem with the road signs and what the phone, nav told me.
2nd: When I did the update I had a problem with the $$$$ ($195) at the dealer for the 15' nav update and could have gotten it on eBay for $35. And, the updates come out every 6mo and are a year behind. Seeing how it hadn't been updated since I had it-thought it was a good investment.3rd: Nothing is perfect, even in my homestate the thing can get me in a cornfield, that's why I call it SyBiL.
