OPOR Sliders Installed

All the sliders mount the same using two bolts per arm. This is my second set as I had Rocky Road and those used 6 bolts total/side. At least these come with 10.9 grade bolts vs. the 8.8 that came with the other ones...only way to increase strength/attachment to frame is to weld them on

I agree and that's what I am in the process of doing. I think that if the bracket wraped under the frame that would help some too. (On my install a small amount (maybe 1/4"-1/2" depending on the arm) of the frame bracket drops below the frame. Therefore it could get hooked on obstacles. As well as maybe one more arm to attach to the frame. These are all wishlist items of course. Overall I think its a great product, especially if you are looking for something to act as a slider as well as a step.

Well I tried this Saturday to install my sliders but the right side one had a bend plate that wont let it install . Here are the pics, if anyone knows how to properly fix this problem please let me know!!!

WOW...crazy that it bent. These things are very beefy...had to be something very large that hit the end to bend it like that.

Clearly let Metaltech know - they are good guys and will try to make things right.

Anyway, given your location - I would find a machine shop or metal shop in the area and have it bent back/possibly re-welded.

You can try yourself if you've got a vise to hold it and a way to exert the force to bend it back.

Maybe even try to bolt everything on that you can and get some extra 10.9 long bolts and see if those will thread even with the bend and start tightening...it might bend back? Once done I would absolutely have these welded.

Thanks KVA, I've already contacted metal tech but because of the delivery by a third party it seems that nothing can be done on their part. I will try tomorrow searching for a machine shop to try and sort it out. But you are definetly right, this sliders are beefy as hell, can't imagine what the hell cause the bent, even though the boxes were fine. I'll keep posting with the progress, thank you once again!!!

Make a claim with the third party shipper and with your credit card company.

Do it immediately.

Chances are you may get something out of that though since you didn't check upon delivery it's your word against them. The fact that these are thick steel plays in your favor and obviously the credit card company would side with you on this since they like your business and it's part of the normal coverage for most internet credit card transactions. I have done this with Amex and got every cent back.

Wow, that sucks! I am no expert but I would have thought the powder coat would have cracked if it was bent after it was coated?

Hey Dkev, where yours powdercoated???

no bare metal if you put some duct tape on the hammer it sould help you can touch it up with undercoating

I had the same thud sound on my passenger side at slow speeds. It sounded like something was loose, but it turns out that the top of the front bracket was touching the truck body. I removed it and used a grinder to take off about 1/4" from the top of the bracket. The sound is gone now.

Check to make sure none of the gussets are making contact with the body of the truck. I installed OPOR sliders on my Limited and had the occasional creaking/thud sound and feel. I noticed that one of the gussets was barely touching the body. While the other gusset was barely touching the rocker panel bracket.

So I loosened all the bolts and re-adjusted the position of the slider so that it didn't touch the body any more, then tightened everything. I then loosened the bolts for the rocker panel bracket and readjusted the bracket so that it didn't rub/touch the gusset. Now the all the creaking/thud sound is gone.

Those with xreas line be careful.

When installing on your LE, did you loosen the XREAS pump or just unclip the XREAS lines from the frame? I got the lines unclipped, but it did not seem that there was much play in them. Turns out something came up and I delayed the install anyway, but figured I'd see how it went for any other users.

I did not loosen the XREAS pump. I removed the lines from two closest clips to where the slider foot/plate meets the frame. Then I carefully popped the closest clip to the slider foot/plate out. There was just enough play to get the foot/plate behind the lines. I put a little grease on the bolt threads and carefully threaded them into the frame.

I loosened the XREAS pump and then tightened it back down after installation. Wasn't enough play in the line for me otherwise. Passenger side pump was a bear to get to as I recall.

I didn't loosen the pump as I should have to give more room to work. Good for others to know.
