OTRATTW Contira Switch Dimming Function

I ended up finishing the wiring for the front and rear lightbars until my relay box comes in so I can use them in the mean time. Was pretty starightforward since Did Not wore up a relay, and used the Rigid harnesses just changed up them up a bit.

Anyways I ended up findig positive for the dash lighting from the ac control wiring (green) center dash to #6'on the switch. I ended up jumping off #7 to my ground. I do not get the correct function when the lights come on.

Am I to believe that there is a negative wire on this system for the dimming function? That I must wire and jump off each to #7 on the Carling switch to get dash lights and dimming control?

Otherwise the switches function perfectly. Just means I have to get more wire and some more connectors. If it is a negative wire coming off of the dimmer does anyone knowmthe color? I can meter either way.

Btw my psoting has slowed down a bit as I am doing a good amount of mods on my boat, but with it in the shop gettign a TTop put on I can catch up on the 4runner.

Figured it out you need to hook up a wire for the dimmer ground not just jump it off to enable the dash light function on your switches.

It was a grey wire in the ac harness. Easiest place to get dash light wires as you can remove the wire covering and tape and reapply afterwards giving it a like stock appearence behind the dash. Looks great and works great. i also spent some time installing my rock/nav lights too. Got under both doors so far. The lights I was going to use in the front and the rear I amy have to rething it, stick tape led lights, as the connectors I have do not want to work. I hid the wires along the side where the plastic trim meets the body at the lower part of the door channel. Pretty easy to shove a wire in there and keep them protected. Also fixed some of the wiring on the gobi rack hiding the rear light wiring i. The rack, used shrink/solder butt connectors and was able to put the, inside the rack to protect them even more. Just need to find some small split loom to finish it up. I want it to look right even though it is only temperary as the fuse/relay box being built will have all the light harnesses built into it..I will post up aome pics ,ater on in my build thread.
