My 13' Trail needs to have its fixed. The dealership scratched them when mounting my BFG AT's.
My trail has to go into the shop to have a little body work done as I messed up the rear quarter panel so I'm thinking of having the shop paint the wheels black while it's there.
How does paint hold up compared to powder coating?
The shop said they can paint them with no issues and the scratched will be gone. The body shop however does not want to remove the tires from the wheels prior to painting as he doesn't have the proper equipment to ensure they won't get marked up when he remounts them. Is painting a wheel while it's still on the tire ok or is it a bad idea?? The shop want 400 to do all 4 wheels black.
Would I be better served by powder coating?
