Parking E brake Issue

I looked this up before posting but didn't find anything regarding my issue..

So this has happened to me twice or three times, when engaging the ebrake.

I push the peddle to release it and when I put the car in Drive or Reverse, it doesn't go, I will have to reengage/disengage the e-brake and the car will make a weird noise than go and it will be fine after.

This happened to me when I was in Monache Meadows and just happened with my wife this morning, she called me freaking out, I had her do the same thing and the truck jerked forward and was fine after. The only thing I can think that's in common is water.

I went through a water crossing in MM and I washed my truck yesterday..

I don't want to take to the dealer yet because they are going to say "We can't reproduce it"

Any thoughts?

Almost sounds like the parking brake cables and/or the parking brake assembly could be rusting causing it to stick.

Thanks! That's something the dealer should be able to see without me having to reproduce it right?

I would think they should be able to see it.

Dive under with a rag and can of WD40. Wipe and spray. Easier and quicker than going to a dealer. Well, maybe quicker.
