Sure hope Toyota wised-up and will offer optional Towing Mirrors on the next generation 4Runner.
Given the current generation's towing capacity and lack of a towing mirrows I hope Toyota has corrected their mistake going forward.

Part of the camo to hide the real thing. The fixed antennae may also be a camo decoy.

Nice pics, I am pretty certain its the 5th 4R. Groll follows familiar 1 bar style, roof rails similar contruction, A pillars less raked but familiar contour.

Come on, peel the camo!! And give us some timeframe Toyota...

It also looks like the yellow DRL's are history as well. I really hope that the mast antenna doesn't make its return on the 2010 4Runner.

Why do you say the DRLs are gone? They could very easily make the yellow lights on the outside of the headlights as the DRLs again. Plus, we don't know what the lower front fascia looks like because nobody has a picture of it uncovered. There may very well be lenses similar to the '03-'05 models that could be used as DRLs.

As far as the antenna, I'd bet my lunch that a fixed mast antenna will be on the 2010. I just don't see them adding that on a test mule if it's not going to production.

That's the same truck I have seen posted on multiple forums over the last couple months. One of our members who no longer posts here made a thread about it on the "other" forum with pictures.

Seems that most "hope" it's the next 4Runner. We shall see.

It has to be the next 4Runner. What else could it possibly be? Unless Toyota is planning on releasing an all new model SUV to its line-up that nobody knows about. And that's not happening, not in this day and age!

I thought that at first too. But if you look at the placement of the lugs in the wheel, you can see that they are not in the same position on each spoke. With a 5-spoke wheel, that means that it will be a 6-lug hub.

Besides, I found another pic of the same vehicle from the side and it is definitely 6 lugs.

My 09 Trail Edition has 5 spokes, 6 lugs, and it looks ok.

When I looked, my 2005 has 5 spokes with 6 lugs. I didn't even realize it until you guys brought it up!!

Yeah, I've seen those wheels on another Toyota vehicle before, but I'm just not sure where. They almost look like the wheels on the Lexus GX, so maybe that's where I've seen them before. Either way, I highly doubt we'll see those wheels on the new 4Runner.

You're right of course, the number of lugs has nothing to do with the number of spokes. The best looking wheels of course, from any manufacturer, are those wheels with an equal number of spokes and lugs. One way around this rule is to ensure that wheels with more spokes than lugs have a center cap that covers the lugs.

I agree that the GX will be only offered in the V8 and the 4runner wont have that option.
