Pic request. 10/11 Limited

Gents,
I'm requesting a pic of the plug that connects to the back of your auto-climate control. The way I see it in the repair manual, the only difference between our manual climate control and the auto is the knob/switch panel and a second blower fan just behind and below the stereo. If the wiring connector/colors are the same I'd say that it would be plug and play, buy the panel and replace the piece behind the dash with the fan.

What I'm looking for are a couple of good fidelity pics of the plug itself as well as the pinout of the wires. The two grey plastic pieces pull out with no tools, and the knob/switch panel also pulls out with no tools. The process should take 30 seconds to pull out and 15 seconds to put back in.

Is there anyone willing to hook me up? Much appreciated.

I'm looking at the manual, specifically the parts location for both the automatic and manual A/C systems, and I don't see a second fan but I do see a set of servos on the Auto that is not part of the Manual system. There is also a second temperature sensor on the Auto that the Manual doesn't have.

Here you go, I had the dash taken apart anyway looking for the numerous rattles, clicks, and ticks. Hope this helps. Btw it's a 12 pin connector.

I can shed a bit of light on this.

I have a 2011 TE with manual air and I picked up a dual zone controller moderately cheap on the whim or chance of converting over my TE.

The connectors are identical in the dual zone control an the manual 3 knob control.

The pigtail that plugs into them is identical.

The coloring of the wires and the location of them within the plug is identical.

So... when I swap in the dual zone controller it doesn't work totally.

The controller lights up. I can select the various foot, defrost, face , rear defrost controls just fine. The problem is no Fan. No AC. The auto light will not activate, neither will the dual light.

I'm checking now to see if it's simply a fuse that was left empty since they try to save every possible nickel.

I'll post back in a few with some pictures and more info...

No missing fuses

As far as I can tell I have no missing fuses, except the ones for the smart key system.

Then I reread the OP, and realized, I might be missing a couple more pieces.

So if someone wants to shoot me those part numbers, I'm willing to take one for the "5th Gen T4R.org team" and order the parts and give it a shot.

Assuming the parts aren't outrageous, I already have the control unit, I'm half way there already, I might as well try it.

You can see from the pics below that the 2 control units are pretty much identical. The internal wiring on the T4R is also identical.

When I got the control head from the wrecking yard, I also got the pigtail with it, just by luck. Whoever removed the head unit had just clipped it from the vehicle and left it attached. But it enabled me to verify the colors and positions of the cable.

The colors on both wiring harness pigtails are pink, B & W, gray, green and blue.

Just noticed!

Wow, I guess I need some practice with photo sizing, I'll get it better next time.

But in the pic of the 2 pigtails, the top one is attached to the TE. The bottom is clipped from the yard. The top one has a broken wing! Look close you'll see the difference in the 2. I went back and looked at my TE and sure enough the good one is broken off on that little corner. Not sure what happened, it doesn't seem to effect anything, I put everything back together and it seems to be working fine.

If this works and isn't too much $$, Please, Please, Please do a how to on it. I would like to do this to my SR5. It should be identical to the TA. I hope, anyway,

Can you guys be more specific on the page numbers that your looking at? I would like to experiment some more with this, but I can't seem to find any useful drawings, info etc.

Just swapping the control assembly definitely does not work.

This could be cost prohibitive for some, just a quick search on the control assembly comes up with $700-$800 price range just for the control Assembly.

Besides the control panel you'll need several other components to make it work properly:
-Servo Damper
-A/C Amplifier (ECU)
-Evaporator
