Picked up my 06' Limited V8 shadow mica today

Well, after the deal fell through a couple of weeks ago on a white Limited, I finally pulled the trigger today and picked up a beautiful shadow mica Limited V8:awais: . It had only 1 mile on it, so it was never test driven. I had to drive 2 hours to Cinci, Ohio but it was worth it. The dealership stepped up to the plate and gave me a great deal. Sorry, I dont have pics yet, but I will post some soon. I love the 18" wheels but will probably put some 17" wheels on after I lift it with Donahoes. Anyway, Thai if you are reading this, can you please change my name from whiterunner to shadowrunner:biggrin2:

Thanks! I am getting ready to go out and give "christine" her first new real detail. I noticed yesterday as I drove off the lot that the detail guys didnt do a very good detail job. So, this morning I will give it a detailed cleaning job to my liking. But, before that, I am calling to order my Weathertech mats, Donahoe coilovers for the front, deaver springs/bilstein shocks for the rear, lexus GX470 wheels (until they make good AT tires for my 18" wheels), and whatever other mods I can get my hands on. What other mods do you all think I should do? Thanks again and I am very excited that the search for my baby is finally over. Oh, with only 1 mile, she is definately a virgin:biggrin2:

Which Weathertech mats are you going with? Are you going to get the liners or the regular all weather jobs? I cannot decide which ones I want, OEM, weathertech, Xtreme products... I probably will not go for the Husky liners. ARRGGG, decisions, decisions!

Hey Paul! I am going with the front and rear floor liners in black. I have a gray interior and want black to show contrast. The weather tech liners (IMHO) are the best looking and best protecting mats on the market. Of course, that is probably why they are $149.90 for the front/rear set. But, when it comes to protecting my carpet, I don't think that is a bad price. I love the way they conform to the floor and provide additional coverage on both sides with a "lip". My other choice would have been the Husky liners, but they don't look like they conform as well. The weathertech liners just look very classy and appear to fit perfectly. If you haven't already, go to www.weathertech.com and check out the pics. I think they even look better than OEM, but each to his/her own.

Does that mean you are no longer "whiterunner"? I dubb the "Shadowmicarunner". Actually I can be called both myself. I have a white 05 4runner and just last Wednesday got a Shadow Mica 06 sport 4runner "Shinobu".
I went with the husky liners myself, because of the high edges. They fit nicely and protect like a mo fo. I really only use them when I go wade fishing or to the beach and don't want to get the interior all sloppy.

Now I am reading your post I see you went with shadowrunner.

This reminds me of a friend of mine that got his devil dog tattoo before he went to boot camp. His D.I. dubbed him private premature ejaculator.

Or, the G.I. could have called him private snowball instead of premature ejaculator...LOL. Anyway, the husky liners are really nice. I just like the way the weathertech liners look. They are shaped almost perfectly to mold around the corners. I agree that they are probably not as aggressive as the husky liners, but I dont see myself getting too much mud/dirt in "Christine". Anyway, dont you just love our shadow mica runners? I love the color. I am getting ready to detail it as we speak. Good luck with yours.

I love the shadow mica. Everyone I know seems to like it better than my white one. The 06 is a little mare aggresive looking then add the sport hood scoop thingee and BAM. It's sweeeeet. I do feel bad that before the white one was my baby. Now I feel I have neglected it by having the wife drive it.

Shadow Mica is the bomb. That's what color I have.

The amount of metallic undercoat sure makes it reminiscent of a bass boat, or fishing lure.

Thanks everyone for the compliments. I really like the color and am enjoying my new Runner. It just turned 200 miles, so I can still smell the "break-in" smell coming from the engine. My weathertech liners should be here any day now. I think the Runner looks good in any color though.

I just ordered the Weathertech Extreme mats from www.AutoAnything.com, they came to $104.95 which included shipping.

I don't know if it was the best deal out there, but AutoAnything had the gray ones in stock that I need, and I've seen others that were happy with their customer service. Plus I need them before next weekend and they said I would definitely have them on time.

Thanks everyone! And, rockyroad I completely understand how you feel. I have had mine for 3 days now and have loved every minute of it. I am still driving around 60mph or less during the first 500 miles and then I will cut her loose. Still debating a set of Donahoes for the front and some rear coils/shocks. But, with my 18" wheels, tires are so limited. And, I am not sure if I want to get rid of my wheels....they are unique. Hmmmmm...decisions, decisions:biggrin2:

I will try to take some pics today, but unfortunately its raining here in southern Ohio. So, hopefully it will stop for just a bit so I can show you some pics. I really like the 18" wheels and wish they were more tire options. But, I am sure there will be alot more tire choices as time goes on. I am planning to eventually lift mine, so I may keep my 18" wheels/Michelins for non-off road excursions. I may pick up a set of the Lexus GX470 wheels to use for off-roading. I definately recommend getting a set of the 18" wheels though...I have received lots of compliments on them!
