What is it with distributors and/or dealers putting on Pin Stripes? $199 LOL That option belongs in the 70s.

Even on a new vehicle, it is tough to remove and nearly impossible without buffing machines to remove them after a few years.

Taking the Pin Stripes off in the sun was fairly easy. The left over glue was a Biatch to remove. Finally used Acetone After trying Goo B gone and WD40.

I cannot imagine how hard it would have been to remove them in six months.

They get to charge you for them. Probably costs them $30 to put them on.
 
Easy profit that most people won't fight. So frustrating.

3M Eraser wheels are supposed to work well on those, but I've never tried.
 
The 3M stripe off wheel appears to work on the youtube videos. I've been looking at a 2014 magnetic gray 4Rnnr with white pin stripes. I'm concerned there would be "ghosting" after the stripes were removed. The car looks and drives good and is priced right. Just not a fan of the stripes either.
 
shouldve walked away from that deal or demand them to take it off and that dumb charge. '17 4Rnr limited arent too hard to find?
 
I thought this thread would be about someone crying because they got some pinstriping in the woods.... I'm a little disappointed.

EDIT: And I'm surprised someone hasn't started a "show off your pinstriping" thread yet.

I've done pin striping about three times on this 2012 Limited due to my impetuous, indecisive, O.C.D. and ultra-high desire to have the project come out no less than P-E-R-F-E-C-T when done! I've had it in Metallic Gun metal (1/2"), Silver Metallic (5/16"); good but too thin. And last Summer I did it over in Bright Metallic Silver (5/8")... and I would always change the Gold Leaf of wheat that highlights the 'LIMITED' emblem directly below; the ten inch (Long) sticker stands out much better than the seven inch sticker that I used previously!

It's super easy to work with and is you can make corrections when it's not looking reasonably straight when marking the pencil lines during the set-up process! I once was satisfied with the first thin silver metallic tape application for over a year before deciding to redo the job completely over; just kept putting it off 'til next week-end, but next week-end never came until next year (lol). But I found the end of the tape in the doorjam and began to pull. You won't believe how easily the vinyl pulled right off and it never broke, not once. I cleaned the very faint dirt/adhesive lines off with alcohol pads all the way around the truck in just five minutes, and it was ready to be restriped... And because the original stripes were already straight, I made pencil marks as a guide before removing the old stripes, so that was easy! 'Best to you',

I'm just glad there was no mention of " it's a badge of honor" bullsh!t in this thread...ehh well you did use acetone though...

Yeah. Did not soften the paint. Acetone is good for tough removals on a car. Been using it for years to remove adhesives ala clean up after removal of pin stripes ( As always I did test it on a small area first since this is tri coat paint
