sorry guys, just got my signature fixed to show up again... heres everything done to the truck. you can go to my profile to see all pictures :thumb:
 
Alright I'm an idiot.

While Installing the daystar 2.5 inch lift to the front of my 2013 Limited, Mechanic spilled about 1/2 quart of hydraulic fluid. Can't find where to top it off and now the truck's front end rides soft like it is on an ocean wave...very annoying.

Anyone know where a reservoir is to replace the lost fluid or is it not replacable?

Pictures to follow.

Also, now the truck is 1.5 inches higher in the front. A reverse rake. I assumed a leveling kit would ACTUALLY LEVEL THE TRUCK.

You probably got air in the XRES lines. I think you just bought yourself a trip to the dealer for repair.

If you had measured your front end before installing the Daystar Spacer, you would have noticed that the front (stock) is roughly an inch lower than the rear - so by going up 2.5 inches in just the front, you have created rake towards the rear. Your best bet to fix this would be either A - get a 1.5 front spacer for the front instead of the 2.5 (which will still have a tiny bit of rake) or B - keep the 2.5 spacer upfront and get a 1 inch spacer for the rear which will help even it out. I hope this helps explain everything about the rake

Uh oh. Hope you or your mechanic has deep pockets. If he broke into the XREAS system It's much more complex than replacing fluid. Take it to a dealer and expect the repair to be over $1K. Good luck.

If the mechanic is going to pay for the repair and you don't mind ditching the XREAS all together, might as well have him pay for a new set of Bilsteins all around :becky:

From what I understand, once you loose any substantial amount of fluid from an XREAS shock, you need to replace the entire "circuit" (which includes that shock you lost the fluid at, the center fluid reservoir and the rear shock diagonally across from the front one). This equals many a pesos at the dealer.

As mentioned ...there is not one and no way to re-add fluid. It is a closed system with ALL the fluid added at the factory. It has check valves at the connectors on the frame and can ONLY be disconnected there with all 4 wheels in the air.That way it only loses 1 or 2 drops at the most ,which is acceptable.

If it is disconnected at the shock,like your mechanic obviously did,then the whole X-REAS suspension system is trashed and can't be replenished even by the dealer.Must be replaced and s new XREAS system replacement cost is very,very expensive.

For future reference....Connectors ,for each XREAS shock are at the frame and only disconnect with pressure off(all 4 wheels in the air)and look like this....Never disconnect them at the shock body or anyplace else.

put this images of my lift results together for someone looking for information on "leveling" the 4runner, and thought it might be helpful in this thread as well. The red line is drawn between wheel centers, and helps visualize how much rake there is....
