Post your LIFTED pix here!

If I understand correctly, the TRD PRO uses the same Bilstein 5100s that I can install on a Trail Edition but with the TE, I'd have the benefit of KDSS. From what I've read, I'd assume that if I go with the Trail Edition and install the 5100s, I'd have the best of both worlds.

Trail Premiums have more options than the TRD Pro (sunroof, turn signals in mirrors are the main ones). But the thing you don't get with the Trail Premiums that you get on the TRD Pro are - TRD Pro Grille, TRD pro badging and shift knob/floor mats, TRD pro bistein suspension, nitto tires and trd wheels. But all of that comes at a cost of around $6000-9000 more than the trail premium depending on what type of deal you could get for each (and I would assume the higher end of the spectrum because of how hard it is to find a pro now).

For that $9000 you could possibly save by going Trail Premium instead of TRD Pro, you could get KING suspension for front and rear, nice UCAs and a better wheel and tire package with some money to spare. That all would kick the TRD Pro's but in terms of performance and looks.

A TRDP is $6k to 9k more than a Trail Premium with KDSS? Now you are just making up crap about pricing. Some may now be paying more than sticker but, really now, $6k to $9k more than a TP? It's all in fun, but try to keep the BS reasonable.

Trail Premium sticker for $41k to my understanding. Regular TE stickers for $38k. TRD Pro they mark up like crazy, because they are selling for $47-48k when the sticker is I believe $43k-44k. Now, they are more flexible on pricing when it comes to Trail Premiums vs TRD Pros, which they mark up and don't budge on. I have seen some people getting TP for $38-39k. So there's where i came up with that price discrepancy. Take it for what it's worth, that's just based off of what i see around me and through my good buddy who works at a big Toyota dealership.

I agree. It must be a socal thing. When I bought my TEP, salesman said they were easily selling TRD Pros for close to $50k at other dealerships that actually had them.

Yeah even though the Trail and Trail Premium are still very rare, hot commodities in SoCal, they still give some flexibility on em. I don't see many brand new trail or trail editions anymore. Heck I rarely even see some used ones within a good radius around my area. But since the TRD Pro is so limited in production versus the Trail/TP, they use that limited and unique title to mark up like crazy. Only reason i know these things is thru research and my buddy who is a salesman at Toyota.

I had money down on a Pro ($500 below MSRP) before switching to a Trail Edition. I can attest to some regions in the country that are selling the Pro above invoice though.

I did enjoy the near plush ride that the Pro gave me and I sure hope that my TE with a slightly higher lift and KDSS will ride equally nice.

I just wish that it everybody would agree on which suspension upgrade/lift is the best. I should have known that it wouldn't be that easy. You should have seen the riot that I started at the gun show when I asked "which gun is best..... ?" LOL

Man, you guys are spewing a lot of BS in the last half a dozen posts. The Pro suspension is not 5100s. It is much more like the 6112s.

Pros don't have a sunroof nor do they have turn signals in the mirrors.

6k difference between a pro and a trail premium w/KDSS is a stretch, but 9k is way off the mark.

Sure you can buy a trail premium and mod to be better than a pro for a similar price, but let's be reasonable.

Yeah exactly, the Pros do not have sunroof or turn signals in mirrors, which is what i said in my previous post. I was saying the TEP have them, not the Pro.

And yeah the sticker prices are not that far apart, but what they actually sell for is that much. Just research it. People in here have been saying they get new TEPremiums for $38-39k, while TRD Pros are selling for at least $47 and up. I only am stating this info because of research around my area and through my buddy who works at a huge Toyota store. I guess in Southern California they are way more marked up and actually selling for that much as opposed to other places in America. But that's from my experience around here. Maybe price discrepancies will be different for different areas by a lot, or maybe only by a little.

Sorry, I misread your post on the mirrors and signals.

Maybe you are seeing that much of a difference in Socal, but here it is nowhere near that much.

I completely agree Veet (All bickering aside)(not your fault BTW)
Spend the extra time and money building your own rig the way you want it.
The Pro"s are Nice! but it's a selling tool to sqeeze more money out of you.
Then throw in the " Limited availability" line and .... Please!
I could have a truck built already. You can make a decent Trail out of an SR5 (- KDSS).
So you damn sure can make a Pro out of a Trail. Even the little plastic lettered grill & badging. OMG!!!
They're taking all the fun out of it.

Anyone running this day star kit? Looking for some input on it from someone with experience with this kit before I buy it. Seems too cheap to be worthy of daily driving on it and having it last for years. Thanks ahead of time for the help!

There are a handful of people using that kit. Just search around and you will see it pop up. I researched this kit before making my decision and came to the understanding that it does what it claims to but doesnt improve the ride and in some people's opinion, makes it worse. I have the 1.5" spacer in rear and I am happy with it. I also upgraded all 4 corners with the 5100's so that plays into my setup greatly.

Finally got it right, thanks to Scott@Hightech for getting me straight!

OME 884, SAW 1.5, LR UCA, Bilstein 5100s all the way around (fronts at 0).

looks awesome!

What are your measurements now with that setup? Stock Tires still (asking bc i think I'm leaning towards keeping mine till they are done)?

debating your setup vs. 5100s up front and 1.5" rear spacer in rear.
