Here is my 2017 TRD T4R. 3row seating with Canadian Cargo Mat. Bilstein 5100s's all around. Front set at 2.5" and rear SAW 2" Coils. Tires are BFG All terrain 275/70R17 on FN Wheels FX Pro 17x8 in Matte Black from FN Wheels in Orange, CA

I finally get to post here. Went with a "low" lift with the OME NitroCharger shocks with 883/895E coils. Big shout out to Cruiser Outfitters and Low Range Off Road here in Utah for supplying the parts. Took me all afternoon and evening to do the install (having never done it before) and that includes a run to the hardware store. As a green shade mechanic it wasn't too bad but it would have really helped to have an second hand and at times I thought it would have just been easier to have the shop do it. At least next time it will be much much easier doing it myself. Basically watched a ton of youtube videos for install directions.

In my excitement to star the job I forgot to get pre-lift wheel measurements but I'm guessing it gave me 1.75-2" up front and about 1.5" in the rear. Still has some rake which is what I wanted but it is less prominent. The ride is definitely firmer then stock but no jarringly so. As others have mentioned the ride just seems a lot more planted and composed than the floaty and rolling sense that the stock suspension gave you. It also solved my rubbing issue. Initially was going to go with a Bilstein 5100 setup but after speaking with a bunch of vendors they universally recommended OME over the Bilsteins. The Billys probably give a better on road ride but I think OME has the best balance of price, performance, durability, reliability and ease of maintenance.

I tried leveling the horizon, it was throwing me for a loop. Looks great thanks for the review and photo :thumb:

I couldn't find a truly flat level surface to measure on but I have about a 0.5" of forward rake. However remember that each setup will be different depending on variances and load. Take my measurements with a grain of salt, again I couldn't find a level flat surface to get accurate measurements on.

Have you ridden in a 5100 equipped rig to compare to your OME?

Yes, ground to frame. I haven't been in a vehicle with Billy 5100 so I can't give a good frame of reference. Sorry!!!

Lift installed. Netted 2” front & rear which is about what I was after.

Front: Stock springs, Bilstein 5100s set to 1.75”, plus 1/4" poly top plate spacers from Wheeler’s.
Rear: Stock springs & shocks (for now…), Daystar 1.5” spacers, plus Firestone air bags.

I just pulled it off. No discoloration, but I definitely could have used a heat gun for a minute to soften the sticky backing. The original intent was to just reuse the existing TRD portion of the badge and plastidip it...but I didn't like the finish, so I bought TRD Pro badges and just used the black painted TRD portion.

What's a 'TRD T4R'?

The only Toyota Racing Development parts on a TRD Pro is the front/rear suspension (and I suppose the wheels).

What makes this truck a 'TRD'?

I may have missed it but what did you use to coat the front lower portion of the grill? I'm curious to see how it holds up to bug gunk over time, not sure if it would be better or worse.. all I know is bug gunk is the absolute worst if you won't get it off in time
