Eibach front coils are like 620lbs were the dobinsons are 585lbs. I don't plan on adding a winch and I wanted a softer ride. Just the opposite with the rear the dobisons are 220lb and the eibachs are 205lb. I emails pretty much every manufacturer to find a great setup for my build

Good info. When I looked into lifting the 4Runner, there wasn't many options that had matching front and rear springs with 2.5" of lift (i like the factory rake). The Dobinsons springs are nice, but I feel the rear shocks don't always handle the spring rate in certain conditions. I don't have any extra weight either.

Yeah dobinson rear springs are 220lbs which are great if you got some weight in the back. In which I might try out since ill be putting a tire carrier on the back shortly. But eibach did something right when they built these struts and shocks, they are amazing.

So I’ve got different tires, but the same size, on the highway do you feel like the ride is more planted or more top heavy/wobbly since the lift?

One of the things I really dislike is the softness of the stock suspension at speed on the highway.

2016 TE w/o KDSS, Icon coilovers, shocks, and UCA, Dobinsons 701v rear springs, Falken Wildpeak AT3W 285/70/17, SCS F5 17x8.5 -10mm offset.

All of this was installed by the PO and they did have a BMC done. I'd love to go a size or two bigger in tire but I'm really unsure whether it'd take more work (pinch weld, etc). I know I may have to consider a re-gear but I'm mainly speaking here of measures necessary for fitment. Thoughts?

Did you have to do anything beyond the BMC for fitment and do you get any rubbing at all during articulation?

Initially I could feel the higher center of gravity when accelerating or turning, but I became used to it pretty quick. I think the ride is great, very smooth and firmer than the sock set up.

i gave my 21 4Runner to my daughter. She needs her first set of tires and wants to lift it and fit the biggest tire without modifications/cutting trim, etc. What is the best way to accomplish. This truck will rarely if ever see the off road. Do we need shocks and a lift kit? I have seen the Eibach Pro Truck Coil Over 2.0 that says it lifts 2.5" front and 1" rear. Will that fit 33s? If not, will a 3" lift kit fit 33s? TIA

Will it fit 33s? Yes. Will it rub? Probably. Toyotas just rub, so be prepared to get alignment right and probably trim the bumper/fender liner a bit. It doesn't take much to get it to not rub at that size, however. Lift height doesn't help with rubbing as much as proper caster angles and wheel offset do.

Thanks Pedro. I ordered the Icon Stage 2 kit and the high clearance bumper mod from C4. I think she will be happy with them both.
