Scotty, when installing the ARB 34230-20 Tacoma front bumper on a 3rd gen 4Runner with a winch, many recommend boxing in the open ends of the front frame rails for added strength, particularly during winching; what similar modifications, if any, do you need on the Gen3 4Runner with this new plate bumper of yours? Thanks!

Our crossmember takes care of all of that for you.

Once you trim off the front plate on the end of the frame rail our crossmember slides over the frame them and ties it all in. It can be bolted on by drilling a couple holes in the bottom of the frame up front, or welded on.

Its built on our current winch mount which has d-ring mounts integrated already.

And, this current one would work with limited flares as is. This Double cab's flares are just as wide as limited flares.

I believe the end taper is different on the flares. The Tacomas with OEM wide flares taper down towards the front bumper there the 4runners do not, I honestly can't tell for sure if the Tacoma in your pics has the OEM wide Tacoma flares or aftermarket. I have an AllPro Apex plate bumper (designed for a Tacoma) on my 4runner and it results in the bumper being slightly narrower on each side than the 4runner flares.

In the event you need a test 3rd generation 4Runner to start fabbing and selling these, then I would consider a road trip to Denver to offer mine (my wife needs to go to Boulder anyway...)

I will be in the market for bumpers around tax time and would love to go with your armor all around. Hopefully body lift options will be available, I have a 1.5" BL so even a 1 and 2" option would be nice.

Its been a long time coming. The new Addicted Offroad Plate bumper! A high clearance winch bumper that will fit all 86-95 pickups and 4runners, as well as 95.5-04 Tacomas and 96-02 4runners.

All 86-95 pickups and 4runners will be 100% bolt on. We highly recommend our frame reinforcement kit for those models if you plan to winch or use it for recovery.

All 95.5-04 Tacoma bumpers will receive our weld-on front crossmember to help stiffen the frame up front and provide the mounting location.

All 96-02 4runners will receive our bolt-on front crossmember for mounting.

***Some minor trimming will be required for fitment. All of these bumpers will have the 10x4.5" winch mounting pattern pre-drilled. Please call for current turn-times.

We will be working on one this week. I can tell you it will look pretty much just like the Tacoma and there will not be any difference between the two production models at all.
