power window help

95 4runner
Last month my driver window went out so I bought a reman one from Napa. Today I drove for like 2 mins and smelt something strange, turned around n went home, then the gf seen smoke coming outta the door. Ripped the panel off and the motor was SMOKING. I tried to unplug it and my fat hands touched the motor and holy moly was it HOT. SIZZLING HOT.

Anyone got any ideas? I'm trying to find a wiring diagram cause something seems wrong, maybe the auto down relay is broken so it wont stop the motor? Idk I'm lost any insight would be great.

BTW posted this on toyotanation also, and Napa wont warrenty my motor 30 day warrenty and its 34 days....

Had you just put the window down?

You might try checking the circuitry by connecting a DVM in place of the motor. The voltage should change polarity (+ to - or - to +) as you change up/down direction. That would give you a little insight as to if there is some gross problem with the control circuitry.

Yes just rolled the window down with the auto down feature....and warmed the truck up and drove off and it started smoking....

It broke because you let the smoke out. Check the smoke seals and recharge it, it should be fine.
