Very interested in making the move on a 12 Trails Ed. Just wondering if the 4.0L in the new 4runners is the same ticky tick tick 4.0L I currently have in my 09 Tacoma? That is mega annoying. Thanks very much guys!

No tick. I had the tick in my 05 Tacoma and this engine doesn't have it.

Beautiful! Looks like its gonna be a 12TE for me soon. Also who might know if my front an rear fox shocks from the 09 Taco would possibly work on the 4runner. Maybe I can pull that stuff off along with my wheels/tires to save on the mods.

Ya I sold my 2010 TRD OFF ROAD DC and got the Trail Edition, exactally 1 day after buying the Tacoma I took it back to the dealership because of the tick, they said it was normal and the forums confirmed it but, it always did bother me. I wondered the same thing when I bought the runner but the tick is not there.

My T4R doesn't have the tick but neither does my 07 Tacoma. I've read alot about this tick, but have never heard it.
I do however have a rattle, but it came after I installed the TRD supercharger......
