Hello
I have been lurking for a while and finally joined. I have a good lead on a 2012 4Runner Trail w/ KDSS Nav, Entune and TRD wheels
Dealer said last/final offer was 40400 plus t/t(Sticker is 42k and change)
I am getting a great fair deal on my trade but am wondering if I can do better on the price of the Trail.
I want the Trail but don't want to over pay.
What do you guys think?
Thanks in advance
A "great" price is the one you can live with.
You can ALWAYS find a LOWER price somewhere in the country, but who knows where, or when, and what happens with your trade?
If you really want a TE, and you've been on here a while, you know they are in short supply. Couple that with finding another one with features you want, plus a decent trade, plus the "right" price, reduces your odds by multitudes.
Also, do you REALLY want the TRD wheels? (Personally, I think they are fantastic) but they are really expensive - I'd guess dealer
cost is >$1,200. Odd tho, IMO, he's put them on a new TE. Guessing there's a story there.
The only way you'll know the dealer's "last and final" is to whip out your checkbook, offer him $1K less here and now, walk out if he refuses, and wait for him to call you. If he doesn't call in 7 days, you know. When you call him back, IF he still has it, he knows you're hooked.
I suggest you not get too sidetracked on this forum with pricing, unless
you have lots of time to spend on shopping the multitudes of buying theories that are going to surface.
How are you going to feel if he sells it to someone else? If "bad", go buy it. If "meh" keep looking. Oh... get everything in writing.
Good luck, and welcome to a great Forum.
