I have the Toyota bug deflector and I'm happy with it.

As for the clear bra, it depends on what the Toyota dealer is using. My dealership uses Llumar, and the price was much cheaper then any of the local shops. So far it is holding up great and looks great. Plus it comes with a lifetime warranty from the dealer.

I like the Llumar, its thick and it doesn't have the orange peel that the 3M products have. Once it's polished it is barely noticeable.

I know my dealer offers different packages at different prices. You can just do the hood or do a full package (hood, front bumper, front portion of the fender and outside mirrors).

Word of caution, the front bumper part, it only covers the forward facing surfaces and its is not "tucked" or "wrapped" around the edges. For example, it doesnt go right to the edge of the fog lights or the chrome strip.

I think its because the front bumper has a lot of detail which would make it really difficult to do.
I was a little concerned when I saw it, but honestly I havn't had any issues with it.

I'm sure some installers could tuck and wrap but it might have ot be a custom job which would be more expensive.

Hey Congrats! Last I heard you decided that you weren't going to buy so there was a change of heart, great. Who was the dealer that you ended up purchacing from? I was in Syracuse yesterday for a family reunion and it was the perfect trip up from Binghamton. Zero humidity, 82 degrees and no need for AC, moonroof wide open, and cranked up audio with upgraded Kappas in the dash. Nothing could be better.

Yesterday was gorgeous. I got it from Bur**** Toyota in Cicero (apparently it won't let me put the full name). They had the exact one on the lot with the exact options. I did have a change of heart and glad I did. I got the exact deal that I wanted to apparently it was meant to be. :lookout:

Thanks all. Unfortunately the closest auth 3M dealer is over 1 hr away

Don't let that stop you IF you have the time, I'm retired, my installer was 2 1/2 hours away (one way), and it took him about 3 hours to do my 4runner, worth every bit of it.

I went today and traded the 2005 in for a 2011 magnetic gray w/ leather. I test drove it again and took everyones comments and realized that it is a very nice vehicle and in time my worries will be gone. Got to get myself some Husky liners now. What are you guys using for a hood protector? OEM? What about that clear covering they offer? Thanks again all for your help! :jump:

I just called Ziebart as they offer Z-Shield, same thing as 3M, and they told me to go directly through my dealer as they have better pricing since they hold the account for them so it appears that my dealership doesn't do it themselves at all. Waiting for a call back now.
