Question on front under-bumper?

This pic highlights what needs to come off on the driver side. Passenger side is the same. The farthest left fastener in this pic I had to flex some plastic to get wrench access.

It is installed for improved efficiency, in addition to the baby "mud flaps" in front of the rear wheels. They are also called "spats." You shouldn't miss much by removing it.

I've been waiting for someone to post about the rear spats. My 2013 SR5 does not have the rear spats. Is this something that is not on the 13 models? I wonder if the dealer installs these or they come from the factory installed. My truck does not have them. Anyone?

By spats you mean the mini little "mud flap" in FRONT of the rear wheels, right? If so, I have a new '13 SR5 and DO NOT have the spats. I DO have mini little mud flaps BEHIND the front wheels. Easily removable and those will probably be taken off soon on my ride.

Yes, I have spats in the front but not in the rear. The front spats are now installed over the mud guards. I think the rear spats should be in front of the rear wheels?

Does the front air dam move air towards the brakes to keep them cool ?

There are vents that direct air laterally, but IMHO you'd have to be doing a lot of braking at high speeds for it to have an even slight effect.

You can also leave the second part of the vent that continues the channel of air laterally. That's what I did (for now). Lemme know if you want pics of what I'm talking about.
