Question regarding SMOG check & DECKPLATE MOD+ISR MOD

I was wondering if anyone has any experience with getting a smog check with the deckplate mod and isr mod intact??

I recently did mines, SOUNDS GREAT BY THE WAY, and all the shift points are a bit off currently, and seems to take in alot of air, more than usual. So I was wondering how this can affect my smog check.

I go to school in San Diego, CA. But I do the smog check in San Franisco, CA.

i really doubt that you will have a problem passing smog. That won't make a change to the air fuel ratio, so the only thing to really worry about is the visual, and since it isn't changing the maf housing i don't think they will say anything about it. My IS300 has the silencer removed w/ a polished aluminum pipe between the air box and throttle body and they didn't even ask about it.


If you do run into any problems when you smog it just trade air boxes w/ someone for the test. Mines still unmodified, but i'm up in Rancho Cucamonga, so i'm sure there is someone closer that could help you out.

Really? They check under the hood too? I recently got this car from my dad, so I've never gone to do a smog check before.

The intake tubing looks like the following.


This is where the 2 vacuum hose would go.

notice the extra amounts of JB weld.

And the airfilter box has a hole in it like so:


All these photos were taken before I installed it back. So visually, is this okay? Can it pass the visual check?

Also, if anyone else have any experience with smog check and these mods. Posting would be appreciated. Thanks.
