Thanks! I had a blast out there in the sand it was way deeper than I had anticipated which was great because it made for a little more serious off-roading. The tires change the look of the rig and the traction is great but as far as the noise level its horrible. Mind you I bought these used and one was worn a little unevenly, they also have a little over half tread left like 12/32 I believe its 18/32 new. Most people say they get noiser as they wear and I guess I'm in that stage, but people also say they are close to stock noise level when new. I think I might grab a set of hankook dynapro ats at some point but these will do for now. Just fyi I've had many ATs and MT tires and the way these run right now they are the loudest, but hey I still got ~21mpg on the way back from the beach which was great but city driving I have definitely lost at least a couple mpgs. Hosed the undercarriage down as soon as I got outta there. Good luck!

I know its been months since this was posted, but im just curious, HOW are you getting 21 MPG? My 4runner bone stock+ rook rack only gets average 15.4 MPG and its about even between highway and city. I have 245/75/16 Destinations on it right now and CANNOT seem to get any better fuel milage? Anybody have any suggestions?

where did you get your BL from and how much, im looking to pick up a 1.5 this summer and get it done. how do you like it so far? was it hard to do? what was the hardest part? anything you would have done different?

Body lift wasn't bad at all and I'm glad I did it. Accessing all the body mounts was cake just make sure you spray some pb blaster on all the body mount nuts since the undercarriage can get pretty rusty. The toughest part was putting the steering rag joint spacer on but that was mainly becuase my buddy and I were working outside in the dark (you definitely want someone holding onto the steering wheel while loosining the rag joint as well as tightening it with the spacer in there) Add the front bumper brackets to get rid of the front bumper gap.

Tips: pb blast everything, just loosen rag joint before lifting anything, do this for the shifter linkage as well, loosen all body mounts first then focus on one side at a time when lifting, and retorque everything after a couple hundred miles.

I got my body lift from 4crawler off road

21 MPG was on summer gas, level surface at about sea level all highway. I can consistantly get that highway mpg during the summer on flat surfaces, but not on winter blend. My city mpg is about 15.5-16 and mixed is like 17 winter 19 summer.

If you havent cleaned your throttle body, mass air flow sensor and reset your EFI fuse then get it done. Its all easy maintence. I also use synthetic engine oil and gear oils that helped me out a bit, as well as my k&n air filter. I also keep my tires at around ~39 psi which helps me. Your mpg isnt that far off of normal so I wouldnt think your o2 sensors and/or air fuel ratio sensor is bad. Just do the quick cheap and easy stuff to see if it makes a difference first. Good luck.

Finally got around to installing my B&M Tranny Cooler. I went with the larger 70624 for more cooling capacity. Used 2 4ft sections of 3/8 ID hose and routed the hoses through the ac condenser line galley. Mounted my cooler vertically with the inlet routed to the bottom and return at the top (this is recommended to avoid air pockets in the system which reduces cooling efficiency). Did a drain in fill again for transfluid since I was already going to be losing some from the install. About 4.5 qts all said and done.

I also rinsed out the old tranny cooler in the radiator and closed that end off. Just looped the inlet and outlet with some left over hose, no more fretting over strawberry milkshakes.

Thanks goes to BigFishAllDay for a great write up.
