The rear window and rear wiper stopped working. I tried to find the fuse in both the interior fuse compartment (left of steering wheel) and the fuse box under the hood. I can't find anything marked for the rear window or wiper, front wipers are clearly marked. Where should I look for the fuse? Does it have its own strange designation? Thanks

Still can't find fuse
Hi folks, I still can't find the fuse for the rear window. There is a fuse marked RR WSH but it looks OK. The rear wiper was engaged when the window and wiper lost power so it is about 2 inches from resting in its cradle. I checked the ECU-IG fuse it looked OK. I couldn't find fuse purely marked as ALT or AMI.
I appreciate the help.

Situation
I have lost power to my rear window: window will not go down with fob or dash button, window lock button is not depressed, and rear windshield wiper does not respond. I tried the "hold the dash button up 15sec then down 15sec" without any change. I've called the fuse box several less than flattering names, without improvement of the situation.
Background
I'm admittedly a novice on auto repairs, but I understand the concept of replacing fuses (having blown one when replacing my interiors with LEDs.)
Assesment
Could this be the source of the issue? All fuses that I have pulled whose descriptions even mildly reference rear, power, or window, look to be in tact. If this is a fusaroni, which one?

I’ve read through this thread and, as mentioned in my post, tried both solutions recommended: key on 15sec up 15 sec down start vehicle, and the window lock button.

I’ve read through this thread and have even posted my question in it (last post of the thread. I’m sorry if I wasn’t clear but the solutions recommended in that thread have not helped as 1) through no method will my rear windo raise or lower, and 2) I’ve replaced the fuse I assume to be linked to the rear window (believe it’s RR WIND in the cabin fuse box.)
I get it, you’re trying to discourage people from creating the same thread over and over and over and encourage them to use the search function. You literally linked two threads I’ve read through and referenced in my post, one of which I’ve been posted in.
Am I missing something?

My post was simply offering links to two threads that might provide you with some ideas of where next to proceed.
I can appreciate how frustrating electrical troubleshooting can be. It may be a combination of factors.
If the window is down even slightly, the rear wiper, rear washer, and rear defroster won't work.
Is the rear wiper properly seated in its cradle? If not, the rear window will not operate.

Also relevant, I suppose, every other window is functioning properly. The rear defrost asduminglynisnt working (based on the observation that the dash button won’t illuminate.)

The third post in this thread (below) indicates that power to the rear window (and the two rear side windows) is through the 30A Power fuse.

Since you indicate that the other windows are functioning properly, that would likely rule out this fuse as the source of the problem.
Have you recently disconnected the battery, or have had the battery replaced?
Next steps after that would lead me to want to check the rear window ECU (possible failure) or rear window motor.

[MENTION=242653]schuler317[/MENTION] Also ... have any other mods/fixes/anything been done that might have affected the wiring / functioning of the affected area? If so... consider revisiting the work to make sure there are no cut or damaged wires or shorts etc.
If that isnt it... do you have access to a code reader? If not, I would suggest seeing if you can get a reliable mechanic / dealer to see if there are any codes triggering ... Long story short, I have had issues with my rear window up/down for years and finally got a tip about checking codes; found an error code triggering and figured out the issue much quicker than I ever could have by tearing apart the back end.
Lastly... somewhere in this: http://www.toyota-4runner.org/4th-gen-t4rs/100275-service-manual-download-links.html set of posts is a link to get the FSM ... it has troubleshooting sections in it as well ... that might also help you diagnosis and ultimately fix ... You'll just have to hunt through the thread to find the active link as I think the original one is dead.

I did just have a rear view cameras installed :frusty:
