Rear Window not Working After I Took the Top Off

So I have an 88 22re manual and I took the top off over the holiday and I placed it back on tonight because it might rain. I didnt bolt it but I plugged the cable housing back in and now the window, lock and wiper don't work. Any ideas? :smashputer:

the paint sometimes blocks the flow of electricity and the circuit doesnt ground for the wipers and accessories. Bolt it down so it has good grounding connection, and test it. Otherwise, see if you snagged a wire.

i think one of the rear corner bolts (drivers side i believe) is a little bit longer than the rest and when its screwed all the way down it enables a connection that allows power to the rear window. I think i read that somewhere but maybe not?? someone will be able to clarify

This. 3rd bolt from the back on the ... drivers side? Pretty sure it's on the drivers side. Anyway, there's a safety cutoff so that when that bolt is out there's no power to the tailgate. Just in case you're the kinda guy who wants to roll that window up while doing 60 with your hardtop off.

yup hes right. 3rd hole from the back. my switch was bad and i went through EVERYTTHING! finally found it!

That bolt should be shorter then the rest if I remember right. My switch and relay pack died, so I just by-passed them into a 6-way switch.

if you couldnt tell, ive never taken the top off mine :-( im a little ashamed!! the 17th is our 1 year anniv too

That switch is one of several interlocks for the back window.
If the rear wiper is not properly parked, the window won't work also.
