Rear window scratches?

Anyone notice rear window scratches only about 1/2 inch up from the rubber molding? Dealer is saying caused by dust/particles stuck in that rubber molding piece as you roll down window. After 1/2 inch of movement down, due to concave nature of the window, pressure is released on the window against the rubber so scratches stop at that point. Very strange. Wonder how many others are seeing this. I would guess most people dont notice this. Unfortunately i notice everything.

I Live in Las Vegas too and becasue of the heat out here my rear window does make a noise when I roll it up and down, I'm assuming it's because the rubber strip dry's out so much.
I haven't noticed any scratches yet, but then I wash my rear window before I lower it to wet the rubber seal at the bottom.
