Red round light to left of steering wheel going off?

I am at work offshore and my wife is driving the car. While she was driving home from work the horn beeped rapidl and the little red light to the left of the steering wheel began to flash. She tried to push it in and nothing happened. Can anyone tell me what this is and how to make it stop flashing? Thanks in advance.

Nevermind.

She failed to tell me that she turned on the alarm while in the car at the parking lot at work. Go figures, she was sure she didnt bujmp anything. Sorry for the inconvenience.
