Success. It was a little tight but I was able to take out the USB outlet from the center console and move it to the glove box.
On a side note, what is this thing in the top of the glove compartment?
On a second side note, what are those ports in the back of my radio that have nothing plugged into them?

Nice job, man! So, you were able to completely re-route the usb/aux wire harness from the back of the head unit over to the glove box? You see, I wanted to try that but I didn't want to remove my HU.
Any chance you snapped some pics of the wire harness or the part number? I'd be interested in doing what you did, but my wires are cut and spliced!

Yes, I was able to re-route... no cutting of wires. I only removed the HU for better access. The USB port cable does not need to be removed all the way to the HU and I'm not even sure which plug on the back of the HU it is.
