removed and can't install cowl side trim board

Has anyone removed the Cowl Side Trim Board on their 5th gen? I removed it to get into the lower dash assembly and now I can't get it back on right.

First I removed the door scuff plate, which is easy, just pull it out. Then to get the trim board out, there is a little hand screw back behind the parking break. After you pull that out, you have a metal clip on the weather seal that is easy to get off, and a white plastic button piece that slides into the trim board, which I kind of just pulled out. Kind of like how you would mount something on a screw. I can't get this white piece back in the hole, it seems like I can't create enough room to slide it in from the top.

Has anyone removed this piece and if so, what is the trick to getting it back in?

This is all the manual had on removal and installation.

Also, I posted some pics of the part I am talking about. The white piece in the third picture is the plastic button I can't get into the hole on the trim board.

Mine has been apart ALOT! You may be having trouble because on the door weatherstrip there is a metal clip that attaches to the back of the panel- you will see the spot scratched up where it was attached.

Pull the weatherstrip off a bit and attach the metal clip to the panel first.

Then put the panel into place and push it so the clips line up and reattach. Once in place, just push the hand screw back on- no need to screw it in.

Just to be clear- this piece goes on before the sill plate( just looking at your pics)

Pop that white clip out of the metal piece and reinstall into the cowl. Remove the scuff panel. Push the cowl into place. Reinstall the black push knob, and reinstall the scuff panel.

Literally just got it back on 2 minutes ago after your comments. All I had to do was pop the white piece out and install it on the cowl first like you said.

I didn't realize I could pop that piece out.
