On tweeter install on the rears you don't need to do any major cutting and do like my friend did on his and he just made a very small hole on the rear door insert and pushed the tweeter wires through and used fabric adhesive to keep the tweeter in place and the tweeter is light enough the adhesive will keep it in place;my firend did his over 5 years ago and still looks great.

Yea, I've been looking at all kinds of component speakers for the past week. Originally I went with a pair of Alpine Type-S's but the Infinities are just too good to pass up for $96 (shipping included).

Here are the Infinities if you wana check 'em out.

And, why do so many people stick to coax's in the back? I know their just for filler but I know a rear tweeter and a good set of components would sound much better.

Unless you adjust the imaging of the tweeters for the driver, you will not notice a difference between coax and components in the rear.

Components have to sound a little better/different in the rear if the tweeters are about window height. And I think the Kicker tweeters I got for the back have a swivel with them.

Yeah mounting them at that height would definitely make a difference and then you should swivel them towards the center

Yea, I just got my Kickers in today. I'm gona install them later next week when I get my Infinities in.

I highly suggest NOT mounting the rear tweeters anywhere near a rear passenger's ear. I also highly suggest NOT mounting them high up on the doors...been there, done that. Here's the problem: High up near somebody's ear and they'll tell you to turn your radio off so they can hear a conversation. High on the door and they'll be closer to your front seats than the front speakers are, ruining the sound stage. High on the rear doors also creates another problem that I became annoyed with. When you fold your rear seats down to haul stuff (which I do often), the seats obscure the woofer location and make the unobstructed tweeter output more prominent. I ended up turning the gain way down on my rear channels to maintain a reasonable sound stage.

The solution in my current install is coaxially mounted "separates." JL Audio C5-525x Evolution Car Audio Speakers

Don't go any larger than 5.25" in the rear unless you want to do some serious fabrication work. Here are pictures of my JL C5s in custom brackets. I used one adapter plate and three spacer rings to clear the window when it's rolled down. Then I had to trim both the spacer rings and the inside of the door pocket to make it fit. You can find adapter plates all over the internet for just about every car imaginable...except a 3rd Gen 4Runner. The stock adapters would not accomodate the basket on the rear of my JLs, so I had to build these. Luckily I found a store on eBay for these 4 brackets and glued them all together with PVC glue. Perhaps if you purchased shallow mount speakers you could get away without the spacer rings.
