Great pics and scenery as always dude, new front end really ties it all together. That 40th anniversary LC though.. holy moly. So much want.
 
Well I've been pretty busy with "life" lately and haven't been able to get out wheeling as much as I like. So today, I had to scratch the itch....

Only had about 6 hours of time on the trails, but it's always interesting seeing the challenges that winter poses compared to a regular summer day - the simplest trails can become very daunting. Today though, there was just enough snow and ice to make it pretty slippery and difficult to do the trails we wanted. Still had a ton of fun and it was great to get some fresh mountain air in the lungs! Oh, and I bent my belly pan. I just hope it will come off.... it will be getting some bracing in the spring.

Sweet pics as usual!

I bent my belly pan too, first time using it. Set it down lightly on a rock and come to find out that bent it. Kinda disappointed BudBuilt doesn't add any reinforcement.
 
Rickashay, are you not running a front sway bar in most of these pics? It looks like you're stuffing your wheels pretty good for ifs. No matter how flexed out I get my rear, my front barely moves.

Yah, I'm kind of bummed too. Oh well, gives me another reason to get a welder.

Yah, no sway bars on my rig! It's pretty flexy for IFS but it's also pretty brutal on the highway. Choose your battles wisely! lol

Thanks man! Yah that would be sweet to get some of you easterners out here. We have tons of organized trail runs throughout the year and a couple trips to Cali and Utah as well. Check out Canada Toyota 4WD Association - CT4WD.com for some info there and they are looking to expand across Canada so maybe sign up on the CT4WD forum as well!

Your club looks pretty cool as well! Looks like some fun trails on their site, how often do you guys get out??

Negative. It happened while I was climbing a large burm (~20 ft tall...) and it was SUPER steep and muddy/snowy. Needed to keep my speed up a little bit and the locker on just to climb the burm. The burn turned down sharply at the top, the 4Runner got high centered as the rear wheels were still going up the front side of the burm and the front wheels were now going down, over the hump. As I said, the 4Runner landed right on the belly pan, high centered, but slid with all of the forward momentum I had kept. Just belly scraped over it....

Considering the amount of force needed to "bump" over this burm (I knew I was going to scrape going into it...) and landing directly on the belly pan, it's not that bad. It would have nailed my transfer case if the belly pan wasn't there. The skid will still be removable and I'll bet I can bend it back with a sledge hammer once it is off. Then I'll re-enforce.
 
Club is fairly active, most of the guys are in Toronto and just west. It seemed like last year there were trips posted up each weekend but three major trips.

Keep it up man, awesome work.
 
Great thread! I think a trip to Canada is in order.

Most of my time in Canada has been in the mountains of BC driving to places to start back country skiing from; unbelievably beautiful country !

The Coast Mountains are awesome ie. Whistler/Blackcombe but the Interior has dozens of world class skiing locals, not to mention our incredible Nordic locals! I haven't even mentioned the Canadian Rockies. BC is all about Mountains and outdoor activities --- Winter thru Summer! Just to get some scale, its roughly 1300 miles from the US Border to NW Territories, and roughly 500 miles from the Coast to the Rockies (Alberta border). Something for everyone!
 
I haven't really bumped this thread in a while....not really wheeling but me and the GF decided to get some fresh air today with the dogs. Got up this morning and headed to Waterton Lakes National Park. Here are a couple photos from the day:

Looks like a really cool day, especially lighting wise! Jealous of the views and the photos, I've been wanting to get out and take some shots, but no time and too hard to get to a place with views right now. :P I was desperate enough, you saw my "going to work" photos haha.

You have quite the rake going on, is that on purpose or are you waiting for some coils to settle?

Thanks Jon! It was actually OK outside but the 60km/hr winds made it bad.... Just gorgeous out there though especially in the summer.

Rake? me? No!

hahah yeah man I actually like the rake. The truck had like no weight in the back in these photos. Normally my hi-lift, tools, water, camping gear/food, spare tire... yadda yadda is back there when I wheel. I need the rake unloaded to it doesn't squat when it is loaded up! Plus I've got a swing out planned in the next month or so that will sit it down a little more. If I ever decide to go higher up front I'll be swapping the Toytec Eibach coils on the front instead of my current TRD Tundras. However, I love my CV angles how they are right now... pretty mellow angle. I'm actually hoping with the swing-out, the truck sits 1/2"-1" lower in the back and I will be delighted. I'd rather keep it low and stable!

Spent some time there this last Summer, while you were 4X4'ing in the Rockies! My first visit there was the previous Summer, my parents had been raving about Waterton for years, so my Wife and I checked it out-- awesome scenery... must be beautiful in Winter!
