Has anyone been up that way lately and know if the snow (at peak) has melted off?

Most likely, took Carlyle Rd about 3 weeks back and Signal Peak looked clear. Plus I was at Silver Lake by Kirkwood, and did MET back to 50, there was no snow except tiny little dirt patches last weekend.

I'm running 285/75r16 (32.8"). I watched some videos of other people running it with similar tire size in the last couple of years and it looked pretty straight forward depending on which line you choose. We didn't have much of a winter so hopefully the trail is not too much different.

Running 285/70/17 Toyo AT3 a load range C. Previously 275/70/17 KO2 load range E.
I'd say Toyo AT3 is amazing on regular road shitty weather, no hydro planing, amazingly confident in shitty road condition. Toyo AT3s have given me massive confidence in slush, heavy rain, and water puddles at high speed.
KO2s amazing in shitty off-road, but has issue with wet roads.. not as much as stock tho. KO2 has more forward bite, and would do amazing things in deep snow, like everyone is stuck, but you just go by no problem.
All tires have positives and negatives, size/type, obv size gives you clearance and contact patch but MPG issues. Never tried a Mud terrain, mud is fun for a bit, but I want the contact patch for rocks.. really my perfect off road is Moab and few Tahoe trails, I'd rather have extra rubber touching the road/rocks/sand. My 4runner is a daily driver, but I work from home, so it's just a get food or get to the off-road location rig.
More to add, the only time I needed a tug on KO2s was when I high centered on a tree stump hidden under snow (yes it was the gas tank, the bane of 4runners), on Toyo AT3s I needed 3 tugs/rescues in the snow. AT3s in snow The moment you know you're stuck - YouTube
I am torn between Toyo, KO2, and Falken AT3 at 33 or 34.. then again everyone that goes Cooper never goes back.

Great option tires! I daily mine with Ironman MT 315/70/17. Rain season they suck but turn around time is quick for a spare and less than $200 is perfect for me. I’ve replaced a brand new KO2 shortly after a trip on my last rig super pissed about it.

The guys at Folsom Tire Pro’s were able to get me a good deal on my 37” Maxxis tires and then mount them. I’ve also used America’s Tires. Not sure I’d call any of them “great” but I have no complaints from my experiences.

America's Tire has always been good to my wife and I. They have replaced more than one tire for free under warranty.

Will third America's Tires, I've used the one in Rancho by 50, one in Folsom, and now one in Citrus Heights on Greenback. The pricing is all the same, but for balancing I'd say Citrus Heights or Folsom. The free balancing pays for itself, unless you like shaky freeway driving lol.

I’m also looking for someone to help with a BMC. Also, have a slimeline bumper (Southern Style Offroad), winch and led bar I would like to install, but have not done it before and looking if anyone with experience wouldn’t mine helping. Looking to learn how to do it and not pay a shop a crazy amount. Thanks!
I’ve been using BigO in El Dorado Hills for many years. Was more convenient when I worked up there but I still use them now even though it’s a bit of a drive.
