No kidding eh! That being said, these air filters do a good job in stopping the mud from going through. I'd like to see a K&N do the same. I just don't know how the poor thing breathed.

upcoming Safari Snorkel for the Toyota 4Runner. Contrary to what has been
posted on some forums, Safari is moving forward with the development and
production process for these new applications. It has been slower than
expected, but there have been several prototype iterations to ensure
maximum functionality and solid aesthetics which has delayed the project
more than originally anticipated.
We have recently heard back from Safari that they are moving into the
final tooling steps and will beginning production soon. Please rest
assured that ARB USA is strongly pushing for these products and we have
taken the feedback from the prototype models back to Safari to adopt into
the final versions. Safari and ARB are both very excited to fill several
US specific applications in the near future!

Based on these comments I wonder if they might skip the airmax design and go traditional?

I was thinking the same thing. I saw the ARMAX up in person at our recent meetup here in Vancouver, WA. Compared to the traditional Safari Snorkel on my 1st Gen Tacoma, it is huge. I wouldn't complain if they put it on a diet. But who am I kidding? I'll buy it anyway!

To me that's what is implied by that. The air max design is ridiculously too big for the snorkel. I mean I'll still buy one if that's a worst case but I think now that have the dimensions correct they can scale it down to the dimensions of their other snorkels.

Chose a hike for the wife and I today so I could check out a nearby trail for a future outing. (Ptarmigan pass/Wearyman creek) I went up it a ways, several creek crossings nothing deep, turned around and on the way out here's the conversation:
Me "This trail is a bit to hard to risk doing it alone"
Wifey "I just don't want you to do it in the spring given how wet it is"
Me "It should be fine once I put the snorkel on"
Wifey "Just go with another person so I don't have to worry, and you need to finish your cb install as well"
