Safari snorkel on a 5th gen?

Just a small update:
Looks like this is still in the cards for a release in spring, likely March or April but I don't work for ARB so I can't say for sure.
I'll be heading up to Renton the second week of January to have my vehicle be a test mule for the new prototype of the 5th Gen snorkel. I've been told this is not the same one we saw in June, and likely I'd guess much slimmer, once I confirm I'll let you know. But confidence is high.
I will update you guys how install goes.

Ha coming up to my neck of the woods. I've swung into the ARB warehouse shop once. It's about 10 min from my house, pretty big facility as I believe it's their only distribution center in the states.

Yep. I'll be up there around the 6th or 7th. Not too bad a drive.
That's the plan. I asked my contact at ARB if they could confirm its slimmer. I should know soon. Even the design for the new third gen taco is a bit fatter than I'd like but I also have trust that safari knows what they're doing.

Not at all, I did it every weekend when my ship was in the yards at Swan Island in 2014 for 2.5 months. 2.5 hours or so door to door.

I did tell them I wouldn't do it on a friday, good lord the traffic getting out of Seattle/Tacoma is murder.

Maybe. I may have to make it a hit and run, getting the truck up for the snorkel, and then back to Portland as we're doing the front bumper/flares/etc in prep for the Portland Autoshow.
HQ is in WA. But I think there's a storefront in FL.

Kinda my thoughts as well. I plan on going wheeling this month in a place with a relatively deep river crossing, but it's doable without a snorkel as long as the water isn't too high. When it is too high the biggest problem is that it'll be moving too fast and you could get washed downstream.
Thinking about that, I got to thinking about all the things a snorkel wouldn't help, like all the electronics, untested seals that might leak, air conditioning intakes, etc. Nah, I'll try to keep my water crossings well below the airbox level.
This is the crossing, and this is way higher than what I would attempt. He's clearly floating downstream at one point:

Maybe a short stillwater crossing that deep, but not water moving that fast.

Good catch, the DC is in Jacksonville but their US Sales, Inquiry, Customer Service, Tech and Warranty are up in WA

There's a BWW and a few other spots less than 5 min from the ARB office just FYI if you wanted an easy central meeting point. I won't be there if there is one, in the Middle East till next year.

Just an update. I can confirm it IS a tad bit thinner. If you're hoping for Kate Moss thin then I'm sorry to disappoint.
It's about a half inch thinner and if I had to guess it's likely so that they can use these on Diesel and Gas vehicles and share one product.
Wow 1/2" inch slimmer. What's the use ??? lol good luck I'll pass... Sound like their engineer is being freaking lazy or they don't see much profit from our platform.
Maybe a group buy for a slimmer version would sway them if there was say 20 to 40 orders of the slimmer model.
I can speak for myself I want it functional and pleasing to the eyes... Not some HUGE leach looking thing that's clung on to the side of my rig...
