Safari snorkel on a 5th gen?

I can't think of anything better than filling them with tannerite and shooting them with a high velocity round...
Or just drive over them until they are dust.

Looks great on a Mag gray truck.. Also think it will look good on a truck with matching flares and door handles.... Like mine ;-)

Would be classic to see the owners facial expression when they wake up with a snorkel attached to their rig :madgrin:

While not a bad thing to have, it really won't make a difference.
Unless you're driving through haboobs I did 3 days of driving in a convoy in death valley, and my airbox was bone dry and ridiculously clean. You'll find that your cabin filter will get the worst of it.
I don't mean to tell anyone NOT to spend money, but pre-filters just really aren't necessary and actually hinder the engine by decreasing air flow.
Good to know. So you're saying I'm gonna need a 2nd snorkel for HVAC? :wof:
When you say it hinders the air flow, would you say it takes it back down to stock, or worse than that?

Worse. We tried a couple of them on mine during testing and found the gains were not worth the cost, and I threw some MAF codes a couple of times.
The trick for dusty driving is to blast your AC and then turn on re-circ for the cabin, to create positive pressure in the vehicle, that way air isn't being forced in from the outside.
Cabin overpressure? That's what tanks do in response to chemical warfare. If it's good enough for a tank, it's good enough for my 4Runner.
