Scan Gauge II Codes..New stuff

Mine is in ISO, and I let it Auto-Select the mode when I set it up.

I've got working codes for:

Horsepower
Short Term Fuel Trim
Long Term Fuel Trim
Trans Temp
AFR

AFAIK, those are the only X-guage commands that will work properly on a 3rd Gen w/a SG2.
Thanks BigFish....just received my scanguage2 yesterday from amazon.com for 124.95 shipped and love it. Got the 2 critical codes I was looking for working which was A/F and TFT tranny temp thanks to you and this board. :thumb3: Tranny temp appears to be sniffed from the output line as indicated by the lag in my temp probe that I already had in the tranny pan itself. Love having the A/F....mine hovers right around the stoic 1470 or so on my 2001 Tacoma 3.4L auto. Ken

Strange... I just looked it up on Amazon and it tells me $159. I love my SG and even thinking of seeing about adding a second one so I can cover 8 different functions instead of just 4. I don't know, just thought of it and it really depends on if I win an ebay auction today....

Anyone do that yet???
 
I just came in using this a/f code and actually got something to work but it reads aprox 1/2 of what is should be. My gauge is reading like 7.57.

Looks like I'm half way there lol. Thanks naloboy!

Like I said I'm not sure if my numbers are right, I was getting 9.5 sitting in my driveway. Ran to the store about 6 blocks away and went up to 12.7. I have a long drive to work tomorrow so I'll keep an eye on the numbers and give an update

I know these posts are old, but the reason why you're getting funky values, and seeing them increase over time is because you have the wrong TXD. The one you entered is for the Transmission Temp... So pretty much you're reading the transmission temp sensor, and applying the wrong formula to it, and getting some strange readings. This is why the value increases as you let the truck warm up, and then it levels off.

TXD is the PID you are monitoring, and all of the others (RXF, RXD, MTH) modify the formula, changing what numerical value is reported for that PID.

I know I'm responding to yet another old post, but I wanted to comment on this.

I don't think your 4Runner is running rich based on the 9.9 and 10.1 lambda values you're seeing. Remember, a lambda value of 1.0 means you're running at stoich (14.7:1 AFR). I think you're Scangauge is off by a factor of 10, meaning that you're actually running at 0.9 and 1.01 lambda, which is very close to stoich.

To fix this, you need to modify your RXF code. Try using 044145B40000 and it *should* report correctly.
 
Hmm I kinda forgot about my scan gauge now that I got a wideband, maybe it's time to play with it a bit more and see if I can get different values.

Notice that Air/Fuel Ratio, Air/Fuel Lambda, Automatic Trans Temp, Atmospheric Pressure, and Altimeter all have the same TXD (686AF101B4). That means all those codes are monitoring the same sensor on the vehicle, which on our 4Runners, happens to be the trans temp sensor.

As many times as I've read this thread I did not pick up on this info from you:

So, ATF the only accurate reading with TXD 686AF101B4.

Thanks Robb235. I think I get it now. To clarify:
'Bank' refers to the catalytic converter. Because my 4R has only 1 catalytic converter, only 'Bank 1' is relevant.
'Sensor' refers to the O2 sensors. I do not have an A/F sensor so I cannot monitor A/F ratio. Dual catalytic converter 4r's have an A/F sensor.
Fuel Trim Data:
I am able to monitor Short Term Fuel Trim and Long Term Fuel Trim of Bank 1.
O2 Sensor Data;
I have 2 Oxygen Sensors, 1 before the Catalytic Converter and 1 after the Catalytic Converter. 'Bank 1- Sensor 1' means 'First Catalytic Converter - First O2 Sensor.' 'Bank 1 - Sensor 2' means 'First Catalytic Converter - Second O2 Sensor.'
Atmospheric pressure, Altimeter, and A/F ratios are are null.

This is actually incorrect. The (current) SG2 does read the speed the computer is sending the speedo, but it also has a built in correction factor that you can program based on the size of your tires versus stock. You can program the scanguage to output a speed that is X% higher or X% lower than the value the vehicle's OBD2 system is sending it.

This is a great way to account for tire size changes and gearing changes. Just find the calculators online, do the math, and program in the appropriate % correction.

could you help me with this BFAD? i have 305/70r16 goodyear duratracs mounted on my 2000 t4r 4wd 3.4l. i have a scangauge 2. thanks. and also gonna try programming all the codes u used. thanks

i have the trans temp. but it just reads "- 39", and some times "- 40" i think i messed i up, how do i go in and endif the code i put in for it or so i have to reset the whole gauge to "defaults"?

I cant get my A/F to read anything. I used 3 different entries to try see but none work???? I have a 2kt4r. 3.4 4wd. I even tried bigfishallday. Didnt work

Do you have Califorina or Federal emissions? If you look under the truck, do you have 1 catalytic converter or 2?
 
I have a '99 5speed with 1 cat. I can't seem to find a code to make A/F work.

You've got one cat, meaning that you have Federal emissions, meaning you don't have a wideband "air/fuel ratio" sensor, meaning the A/F codes won't work for you.
 
I just received my Scangauge II in the mail today and will be attempting to install/play with over the next couple days.

I have a 2000 SR5 and have gathered that I WILL NOT be able to monitor A/F.

I am under the impression, however, that I will be able to monitor the following:

--Trans Temp
--Average MPG
--Instantaneous MPG
--Coolant Temp
--Horsepower
--MPH

Will all of those work on my 2000?

Should be able to monitor all that. Does your T4R have one cat or two.

One cat, non-cali spec. Just replaced the upstream 02 sensor.

Should I pull the codes off the linear-logic site, or will it be more productive to use the ones posted by various people in this thread?

I shouldn't have to manually enter all of those, should I?
