Scion T1808 radio install on a '07

I just purchased a T1808 from eBay for my 4Runner, noticed that there is only 1 antenna connector on the back of the unit. My question is do the '07 models have one antenna connector or two (thought I read somewhere that there are two)? If there are two what have you guys done in order to get both antennas connected in situations like this? I do recall reading something about drilling a hole where the second connector is (?) on other Scion model radios but haven't really read anything specific about the T1808.

Just plug in the one cable that fits and tie up the other one. I just did that this morning as I installed the 1809 into my ride. I did not notice a decrease in reception using the single antenna cable. Oh yea that 1809 is very sweet looking. I am waiting on the Ipod sc12235 cable to complete this part of the system. To your point, the scion radios 2007 and earlier did have both jacks for the two antenna cables and you did have to either drill or bend back and trim some metal. Easy to do but does not apply to the 2008 radios which only take a single antenna cable.
 
So how does it sound/Look? I am looking to install the same HU in my 2007 as well. Did you get the IPOD connection as well? How well doe that woork? Pics would be sweet. Thx.
 
It looks very nice, much improved over the older version. I have the ipod cable coming. It is a nice fit and is plug and play. More options than the earlier scion radios. I will not have a chance to take pics till next week. However, it looks exactly like it does on scion web sites. Subjective, but I like the sound better than the 1806 that I had ( non ipod model - I may be wrong on the number).
 
Good to hear. I bought the T1808 on ebay for $71 with the ipod cable. It should be here on this week. I can't wait to get that thing in!!!
 
Here is my T1808 installed on my 4Runner, I also got the iPOD cable but haven't had the chance to install it yet.

Is that part number a Toyota number? I can't seem to find it anywhere other than ebay. Is there any other place I can get it.
 
So I installed the T1808 today, without the ipod cable for now (that's on the way) but I lost that ability to use tha AUX imput. Has anyone else had this happen. Everything else workes great but the AUX doesn't. When I hooked up the 4Runner HU back up it worked. What gives? Any ideas for a soulation would be great. I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving.
 
Well I'm glad it is not just mine then. I will have to look at the wiring diagram's I have for the Scion and 4Runner. As long as the ipod cable works I'll be happy. That should be he this week :D
 
Guess I will need to add an iPOD to my personal Christmas shopping list, always wanted one but never really found a good enough reason to buy one until now. :biggrin2:

Now it's just a matter of figuring out which model to get...:confused:

No it is an aftermarket thing. Basically I suspect the guy is taking Ipod cables and splicing in the connector that fits in the back of the radio. Of course you need to know which wires to use and to splice into.

I suspect you can get your aux and ipod to work but you will need the two toyota cables from scion(the one that plugs into the back of the radio, and the one the connects to the ipod) as well as the aftermarket 12234 cable to join the two. I am not sure if the scion ipod end cable has the aux port and ipod port built into it.
