Regardless of how much many of us love and believe in our 5th gen 4Runners (and previous gens), they're not really "bulletproof" as some describe so don't believe everything you hear. Tip: from [MENTION=65614]Antman[/MENTION] bend/grind silly little hanger tabs on front skid plate so that it may be more easily removed : If/when you change your oil you will know what this means.

Just curious, but what is auto start? Remote start? Push button start? Both of those are available from the factory or as port-installed options. Is it something else?

And the power lock on the hatch. i can't count how many times I've had to pull over the to close hatch properly.

Neg... in 4th gens, you can turn the key to the "start" position and let it go and the starter will continue to cycle until the truck is started. It was pitched as a more gentle start on the components.

One more to add. No remote rear window. That's been negated by remote windows on everything else though via techstream.:rofl:

The power latch is just motorised to ensure the rear hatch is shut just as you close it. Just another thing to go wrong I guess. I never had problems though.

Yessssss. My mind was blown when I realized that was gone.

6 years with my 4th gen then got my new one Monday and I still can't start the thing on the first try! Miss that and the soft close gate big time!

Also really miss the center diff. too!
