A programmer's wife tells him: "Run to the store and pick up a loaf of bread. If they have eggs, get a dozen." The programmer comes home with 12 loaves of bread.
BOO-LEAN y'all.

I used to program PLC's for a living and totally understand the logic, pun intended.

AB SLC500 ladder logic back in the day when I had to lol. No I made the joke to Intruder because with his profession I knew he would understand! Many of us that have been here for awhile know a bit about each other.

If you honk 3 times in less than 5 seconds AND activate your rear windshield wipers (very important to do both at the same time), the front of the 4R bounces up and down like a lo-rider.

PMC, PLC, PLC2, SLC and PLC5 here. I know it means I am OLD!

Tip: from Antman bend/grind silly little hanger tabs on front skid plate so that it may be more easily removed ;): :) If/when you change your oil you will know what this means.

You lose the auto start feature with a 5th gen... that was one of my favorite things on my 2005.

Just curious, but what is auto start? Remote start? Push button start? Both of those are available from the factory or as port-installed options. Is it something else?

And the power lock on the hatch. i can't count how many times I've had to pull over the to close hatch properly.

Neg... in 4th gens, you can turn the key to the "start" position and let it go and the starter will continue to cycle until the truck is started. It was pitched as a more gentle start on the components.

Yessssss. My mind was blown when I realized that was gone.

One more to add. No remote rear window. :) That's been negated by remote windows on everything else though via techstream.

There are quite a few guys on here who believe that their 4runner has much more pep when you put 93 octane in the tank. :noidea:
I don't subscribe to this btw!

6 years with my 4th gen then got my new one Monday and I still can't start the thing on the first try! Miss that and the soft close gate big time!

Also really miss the center diff. too!
