Hi Would you share which mounts and which Plano boxes you used in your set up. This is exactly what I am trying to do .

Which Plano boxes are those? I have a trunk, but it sticks up pretty high. Fits all my camping stuff. My recovery gear is in the back. Would love to put the gear up top with a slimmer box and put the camping stuff inside.

PLA11842 part number for the Plano box. It's a 42inch PLANO gun case with key locks on the latches. The box is mounted on T-slot rails that are cut to length to fit on the trd roof rack.
This is the full name of the rails, TUNTROL OE Style Crossbars Roof Rack Replacement Fit for Toyota 4Runner 2010-2021 Aluminum Luggage Cargo Carrier,Black.

Yes I agree. I hate bringing in dirty recovery gear inside the cab so I resort to keeping all the recovery gear outside or on the rack.
I've had this plano box for a year on my rack. I haven't seen any discolor due to fading. And this 4R is my daily till I get my MR2 running again lol.

Honestly, a good cargo box is way more useful than most full length roof racks I see. Maybe no Instagram Cred, but functionality for the win..

TUNTROL OE Style Crossbars Roof Rack Replacement Fit for Toyota 4Runner 2010-2021 Aluminum Luggage Cargo Carrier,Black.
The most important part is the TUNTROL roof rack bars. They are T-Slot rails that allow you to use t-bolts for different accessories. It takes a little bit of modification to make it work. You'll need to cut them to size to fit all the way across and reuse the TRD rail brackets. Then mark and drill a hole on each end to install a screw rivet for the star knob. That's about it.

I use their stuff for shovels + traction boards. It's very high quality.

Do you happen to know how many inches-ish above your factory TRD Pro rack the awning sticks up with those brackets?
I throw on my Maxtrax Xtreme boards and Diode Dynamics 42 inch light bar on when expecting to go where I may need them.
Smaller mounts by the base of the rack is for scene lighting which I run a pair of Selective Yellow Diode Dynamic SS3 Pro's with a clear flood lens for scene lighting.
GZila 1.75 tube mounts and KC Hilites mount for the light bar.
Those lower mounts what are they and where did you get em? Thanks
What gzilla mounts are those just curiously?
