Many of them are indeed living off their parents. Inflation certainly doesn't help the situation either as companies cannot keep up with and purchasing power even in a high skill job isn't what it used to be.
Shrockworks appears to be out of business.

customers are going to have to speak with their banks/CC companies for chargebacks.
when shrockworks was closed on 1/10/23 they laid us all off told us we prolly were not going to be paid for the last 8 days of working and best of luck.
16 years down the toilet I'm a bit pissed along with the customers.

This sucks. Hope you can find a better Job. Its against the law for them to not pay for hours worked in addition to all the 401k, HSA etc that you had put your own money into. Not sure how the Texas law works but might be a good to get the Texas department of labor involved. Best of luck.

FYI, you are entitled to that money, that's not how payroll works - unless you specifically signed something stating otherwise they have absolutely zero right to withhold pay, regardless of how much debt they've racked up elsewhere. That's called stealing from Peter to pay Paul. If it's a decent chunk of money I would very heavily consider a talking to the Department of Labor, filing a tribunal or possibly an attorney as someone out there will happily represent the lot of you. Employers can't just up and decide not to pay you, you have both federal and local protections in this regard and it's absolutely unacceptable behavior, don't just lie down over it.

Sad to hear on many fronts. I have my views on the economy and past decision making of our government to the north of the border, but can't speak directly to that of the leadership (or lack thereof) in the US. I realize this may also just be blatant business ignorance at play, or maybe a mix of all of the above. My hope, although unlikely, is that we don't continue to see more business' like this continue to shut down.
On a side note - I always wonder why companies like this don't try and sell their designs and IP as a last ditch effort to gain some liquidity in the end. Hell, even guys like Savage Offroad we retired could probably pull some funds out of his proven and well thought out designs.

Sorry to hear that. I was hoping the company wasn't at that point that the employees all lost their jobs. Granted, like many other have stated they will have to pay you for your hours and days that's the law.

But I definitely would back up what he's saying-- about getting an attorney, stealing from peter to pay paul, etc. You worked those hours, you are entitled to that pay, period. I certainly hope this doesn't take off into something bigger than it needs to be and that you're able to collect your remaining pay asap.

well , we were told there is no money he had to sell one of his trucks to make the last payroll check ect ect. So, by now I'm assuming filing bankruptcy which means I'm hosed either way.

Agreed. If there is good demand for a product another good company will take its place. Those who don't care enough to pick themselves up by the bootstraps well, they can live in a walmart parking lot for all i care.

Awesome, thank you. One of the little pivot pins inside mine has worn down enough it falls out when you pull the latch. I don't know how I haven't lost it yet.

It's funny you say that. Back when I did CNC/fab, me and three other employees constantly pitched various ideas to my boss on how we could effectively tap into and profit from 4x4 and drifting markets (both HUGE in my area) - we were perfectly positioned for it and practically halfway there with what we made already, we had spare people and spare machines, it would've been as easy as writing up some programs and updating the website. I even went as far as to create a huge list of 20+ items that were either missing from the Toyota market or were things that we could produce and drastically undercut competition while still retaining huge profit. To boot, my coworker was well established on Facebook at making custom armor for the local 4x4 community and offered to move his operations into the shop where there was an extra bit of space, and perhaps work out a deal. We even had an empty booth to hire another welder
Boss shot down every idea we had no matter how good, with the only justification being "the market is just WAY too cornered, trust me".... so he insisted we stick to building junior sprint and stock car parts.... then sold the extra machines, and gave the free area to his son to run some custom keyboard company he started up which made no money.
Needless to say they're not doing hot either, last I heard they laid off some of the staff which I don't doubt. Things were going hell in a handbasket when I left a year ago

Well that is terrible, you guys had in my opinion the best looking front bumper and I have been so happy with mine. Glad I got it as I ordered mine around the time of the Pilfreybuilt meltdown but had the confidence Shrockworks was more established and stable.
On another note, I have a friend of a friend that owns Nefarious Kustoms which is located in Houston and Las Vegas, might be worth reaching out & seeing if they’re hiring.
