Shrockworks delivery disappointment - how's NFab?

I'm on week 15 waiting for a set of Shrockworks sliders. By contrast, Toyota built an entire sport utility vehicle to my specifications IN JAPAN and got it to me in less time. (Both companies promised 12 week delivery. One exceeded expectations; one not so much)

Waiting for a reply to today's request for an update, but thinking its time to pull the plug on this pipe dream. Too bad...seems like a great product (seems being the operative word).

What has the team's collective experience been with delivery times from NFab?

I'm sure it will just tack on more wait time, but I hate to reward this kind of performance. My company builds a 200 ton LOCOMOTIVE in less than a month........

Are you more concerned about delivery time or quality? SW makes some of the best products in the industry and since they are small they always have a backlog. My SW bumper took almost six months to arrive and I wouldn't trade it for anyone else's product. My SW sliders and custom skid plates also took a long time to get done but they are the best.

Dropped the passenger front wheel in a culvert in Ouray, CO (wife said "there is a curb there; so you really want to park there? -- she now know how to tell me the difference between a curb and a culvert!). SW sliders saved my ass and my sheet metal. Glad I paid what I paid for my Shrockworks sliders and waited for them.

Yes, the wait might be annoying... and yes i'ts worth it!

Actually, problem is SW not providing accurate wait times. 12 weeks turns into 15 weeks with no updates.

I keep seeing more and more of these posts lately and it's getting tiring seeing. Yes the wait is long, yes the lead times may be off, but that is something you should have educated yourself on prior to purchasing.

When you're a small business and marketing towards a multitude of vehicles with a demand from them all, the turn around time may be a bit slow. There stuff isn't mass produced. Would you like for their product to be rushed out the door and half assed or to have the time taken and done right?

The wait will be well worth it for the sliders. The quality goes above and beyond all expectations. I love my sliders (though I wish they offered a bump-out version) and I do plan to do business with them again in the future.

Maybe your sliders will be there soon!

well so is Stubbswelding, he DOES make a awesome product, and he will NOT lie to his customers over and over again.
You will not have to wait months to get a set of slidders :rockon:

OP it is part your fault, you either didnt do your research or you fell for their lies, either way you will have to wait and wait, and hope, they send you the correct order, or pull the plug and go with someone else.

So, appreciate the thoughtful feedback. Agree that my patience is maybe not what it should be on this. I'm counting to 10...then counting to 10 again...maybe counting to 15 (weeks) at this point.

No question about it, SW makes a great product. Design, construction, quality...all top notch. But reviews here of NFab, Metal Tech, 4XI, et al, are also pretty consistent and positive. The key to protecting parts and people is having the protective gear in place at the time you need it. So delivery is a real factor and fair game in the discussion.

Most of these suppliers are smaller companies, and I definitely want to support them. I also want to protect my truck. So......1....2....3......4.....

So, coming back around to the question, maintaining patience, and simply looking for data. What has typical lead time been from other suppliers?

IMO, since you've waited this long already might as well just tough it out...I'm sure it'll be any time now. I completely understand your frustration and wanting to jump ship, but like everyone else said, at the end of the day it's a top notch product.

For what it's worth Budbuilt quoted me ~2 week delievery time, and if I recall they only missed the mark by about a week. So let's just say my sliders arrived at my door step in about 3 weeks from date of order. Also, let me add that the delay was due to me wanting it powder coated...if I wanted them bare, he could have them shipped in a couple of days tops.

Shrockworks is a low volume production with Superb quality. Ten week is what I was expeting to receive my sliders. Ten weeks exactly is when I got them. The quality of material and craftsmanship is outstanding. It was definitely worth of waiting.

I won't comment on the Shrockworks lead times, I am over that, and don't need to order further products from them.

Now on the NFab's. Are you looking for sliders or steps? NFabs are NOT sliders they are steps that look like sliders.

If you want sliders and don't want to wait look at other companies like BudBuilt.

15 weeks for sliders is wayyyy too long. Especially if you were quoted 12 weeks, at 12 weeks 1 day you should at least receive a call or at the very least an email.:crazy:

If they are going to charge a premium price that should go hand in hand with premium service as well as a premium product.

SW and nfab products are completely different and are apples to oranges.

SW can be compared to domello, metal tech, bud built, etc. They make actual truck armor and trail protection..

NFab is 100% aesthetic and only steps! But any real weight from the truck on them and they will fold faster than who knows what.

I was going to stay quite on all of this SW lead time and promises crap that has come up over the past couple of threads. So no offense to anyone but can everyone please SHUTUP about SW lead times. Do your freaking research before ordering anything and know what your getting into.

Just my opinion, but 12 weeks for sliders is ridiculous. If you can't fab and ship sliders in less than 3-4 weeks you need to figure out how to do it faster. All these parts are made from a jig. Can't take more than a day to weld a bumper, much less a set of sliders.

When I called Bud Built, they had their full line of sliders available for shipping next day. Give them a call, I love my non-beefy bump out sliders and had them in about a week. Granted this was the better part of a year ago.
